Tiny Habits Intro - Key Tips for New Habit Success

Key Tips for New Habit Success...

----------------
*Please note: this is from my experience only,
and it's is not meant to represent pure Tiny Habits material.

----------------

1) Mindset Tips:

a) The absolute #1 goal is...
Think: "Just simply get the habit to "take-root" first -- as a tiny version."

--------------

b) Think: Wait to "go for bigger results" well after the tiny habit "takes-root"... After it seems easy and natural to do... almost automatically.

If you try to "go big" too soon, guess what happens?

--------------

c) Think: Keep your habit formation... as reliable... and consistent... as possible.

Science shows that consistency gives the best results in... "wiring-in" new habits so they "take-root" faster and better.

--------------

d) Think: Be creative and... Experiment and... Have fun with the process.

But with each experiment, be consistent and give it a chance.

--------------

e) Think: Be patient learning the habit-building skills... They are very valuable and can help you from now on.

--------------

2) Tally Your Success... and Celebrate with "Authentic Pride":

a) Track your success... in the most... visible... and easiest... ways possible.

--------------

Tracking Example 1:

I "lay out" toothpicks to track how many minutes I exercise... I can see my "daily score" grow during the hours of the day... Each time I do some exercise I see the impact grow... Tracking is fun and... It's very visible.... I feel like I've won... each time I deserve a new tally point...
SCORE!

--------------

Tracking Example 2:

I tally my sleep habit success... on a piece of paper... each evening... and each morning.

I mark down... when I went to sleep... and when I woke up.

I mark a smiley face 🌝... if I got 8 hours or more of sleep. Yay!

I make notes if I had any sleep habit problems.

I also note my ideas on solving those problems.

Tallying progress is a Tiny Habit that helps us keep on track...

Tallying shows ourselves evidence of real progress... Yay!... and

Seeing evidence of real progress... gives us motivation for... feeling genuine pride. Yes!

All that helps the brain wire-in the new habit... faster and stronger.

--------------

b) Celebrate as soon as you notice that... You are doing your habit per your plan!... Say something like... Yay!... And do whatever else feels good.... Wave your arms over your head!

If you are doing a new habit that is important to you, then please make sure to feel proud of your accomplishment!

You are starting to make important improvements!

--------------

c) Feel genuine pride... as soon... and as often... as possible... to help wire-in the habit...

Also feel pride to... reward yourself for your good progress so far in... creating a new habit... that you feel you need... for very good important reasons.

Say... Yes! I did it again! Yay! It's working!

--------------

If you want to try a new Tiny Habit, I suggest try tallying something.

Like this:
After I _______, I will tally the success.
And celebrate "Yay!" 🌝
