PT: Different shades of introversion

Creator: @ASilentObserver

Introverts and extroverts are on a spectrum. It means they are not just one type of personality but many. The more interesting fact is you can be an ambivert too which is like having qualities of both extroversion and introversion equally. And everyone will act differently depending on who they’re with, where they are, how they perceive the situation or circumstances.

If you ask me about books, writing, psychology, community and I can go forever about them. The thing about introverts is that we can be quiet but if you ask our views on the topics we are passionate about or know a lot about, we have a lot to say and share. But oftentimes I am more introvert over others and it totally depends on with whom I am and what environment.

We all have our comfort zones and we act accordingly. It completely depends on the environment we are in and how it makes us feel in that moment.

MBTI stands for the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. It categorizes the personality into 16 types. It uses 4 broad dichotomies to measure people’s tendencies and behavior:

1. Introversion vs. Extroversion
2. Sensing vs. Intuition
3. Thinking vs. Feeling
4. Judging vs. Perceiving

And based on those 4 dichotomies, after the end of assessment, it gives you a four letter personality type that shares insight on how you perceive yourself and the world around you and the way you make your choices and decisions.

Though MBTI is not 100% accurate because it does not take into account all other factors that influence our personality and behavior. And it makes it hard to measure. But I think it allows you to at least have a deeper understanding of yourself and how you function. For example, I’m an INTJ and I find its description relatable to how I see myself.
