Law of the Farm and Illusions Vs Reality
Simply put the law of the farm states that things take time and particular steps need to be taken to achieve certain results. There are no shortcuts. You reap, what you sow. You can not get a good harvest if you did not sow on time or forgot to consistently water the plants. The author insists that the law applies to a broader life.
Illusions Vs Reality
We sow something else and expect another result.
- Physical Needs: Most if not all, agree that health is more important than looks and temporary pleasure yet we continue to spend on looks and quick fixes rather than nurturing our health.
- Social Needs: While most people crave deep connection but they are not willing to spend time in nurturing those relationships and getting through the thick and thin of it.
- Mental Needs: We go for quick fixes rather than investing in ourselves.
-
Spiritual Needs: We focus on our needs and desires when the research indicates that helping others is a better way to feel fulfilled in life.
The point of the principles discussion is to allow us to reflect on what we want and what we are doing. It is recommended that you note down what your typical week looks like and then ask yourself if the seeds you are sowing will result in the harvest that you so desire?
