Farmers Assisting Returning Military (F.A.R.M.)

Farmers Assisting Returning Military (F.A.R.M.)

Plano, TX
Farmers Assisting Returning Military (F.A.R.M.) is dedicated to supporting veterans in Plano, TX, by providing impactful agricultural training and a nurturing environment. Founded by two Iraq War veterans, our organization grew from the belief that working the land fosters camaraderie and a sense of purpose, making it easier for veterans to reintegrate into civilian life. We offer opportunities for veterans dealing with suicidal thoughts, homelessness, or chemical dependency, inviting them to cultivate crops and care for animals on our multiple farm locations. Through our peer-to-peer training model, participants can explore a path in agriculture, gain valuable skills, and connect with fellow veterans. Our Future Farmer Trainee program offers stipends ranging from $500 to $1,000 monthly, alongside shared housing for qualified interns. While our internship enrollment is currently on hold as we expand our facilities, we encourage all veterans to reach out for future opportunities. We provide resources for overcoming chemical dependency and support veterans through the process. Those who complete our programs are not only equipped with a certificate that aids in securing farming loans but also have access to employment opportunities and resources necessary for success in the agricultural field. At F.A.R.M., every veteran is welcome to participate in our community activities, connect with the land, and find a renewed sense of purpose in their journey.
