Abuse & Domestic Violence Prevention
Let’s learn more about the power and control wheel to help identify abusers. We never know who we are dealing with.
@happysmileyfaces that's a great post! Thank you for spreading awareness about a pressing issue ❤️
@happysmileyfaces Thank you very much for this post and for sharing important pieces of information. Unfortunately, the image is quite challenging to read, especially on a computer screen. Would it be possible for you to reupload it in a larger size? Your contributions are deeply appreciated!
@Mya000 Sure. The image quality seems just fine to me. Is it clearer now or it gets worse after being uploaded?

I wished to share a website where the Power and Control Wheel can be read clearly. It also has some comments and makes a contrast with an "Equality Wheel" and shows an "Advocacy Wheel" on keys to domestic violence advocacy.
As well as a Library of "Wheels" related to Domestic Violence, created and maintained by the originators of the "Power and Control Wheel"

@HealingTalk Great! Thank you for your contribution.
@happysmileyfaces
You are welcome!
Thank you for your informative post about such an important issue!
An issue that, unfortunately, is a lot more widespread and severe, all around the world, than apparent.
There is a long path ahead, and people like you are leading the way.
Have found these wheels super helpful in the past. It's good to see the healthy side of things too.
@Sasher
Hi, Sasher!
How nice to see you here!
I totally agree, you are right and wise, as always.
The "paradigm of the good" in any issue might become our North Star, the "true North" in our compass, that brings us hope and lets us know how close or far we are from our destination.
I miss you from those encounters. I have moved to the new Grief and Loss community.
I hope to see you again soon, Sash!
All the best!
Marcelo.
@happysmileyfaces
great post thanks for your encouraging post
@happysmileyfaces
Wow so true! I didn't even realize it at the time but it's crazy how accurate this is seeing it all spelt out like this. Thank you for the post!
Here's an even more close up version for those, like me, still had a hard time seeing it.
After reading through the power and control wheel, I actually feel pretty sick as I was realizing I've experienced each and every single one of these. Is there a path to get past the abuse and heal all parties for a better future together?
@craterlake Yes, there sure is. But at first, we’ve got to work on ourselves and understand what we need to heal from these traumas. Perhaps, acknowledging the pain and realizing that it’s no longer worth suffering would be the initial step.
@craterlake I'm truly sorry to hear that you've had to go through such difficult experiences. Recognizing the signs and effects of abuse is a crucial first step towards healing. There is definitely a path to healing and creating a better future. It often involves seeking support from professionals like psychologists specialized in abuse recovery, who can provide guidance and coping strategies. Additionally, it's important to reach out to support networks, friends, or family who can be there for you. Healing is possible, and you don't have to go through this journey alone 💚
