I'm not seeing a co-dependancy community?

Wilde1 February 24th, 2019

I was looking through the list of various forums and I was surprised to see there isn't a co-dependent forum. Did I miss it?

@Wilde1

There isn't one that I have come across.

I must admit I chuckled at the idea, but then I do have a wierd sense of humour.

Why do you find that funny?

Tbh no, and I feel a little embarrassed now for saying it. It was, I think, something to do with the idea of posting as couples rather than as individuals, and the resulting confusions.

My wife and I scored very highly on a co-dependency rating when we first met, we had both come out of un-close relationships. We made a conscious decision to act even more co-dependent, rather than less, it was such a new feeling for both of us.

The facilitator of that workshop rather thought we had got it wrong, but it worked for us, even if posting as an individual on a forum might have been tricky.

So I think my comments came from my own history of attachment issues and their resolution, and I apologise.

I feel like you misunderstood what codependent means.

Hi, I looked at the list on coda, thanks for that.

So, yes and no, as far as misunderstanding goes.

Hi there! Just letting you know that I've deleted a couple of your posts since they were duplicates. You're right that there isn't a community per se for codependents, but if you're interested, we do have the relationship support community, which would probably be the most relevant. If you need a specific subforum, it seems that unconventional relationships would probably be the most suitable. Hopefully this helps!
