The course is for members only. Not for listeners! The goal of this course is to understand and know the basics of practicing compassion and help & support our members to have a compassionate experience in the group support chat rooms. This course allows you to foster healthy conversations and connections as well as be a compassionate, loving, supportive, and amazing member of the chat rooms and the community. Who can participate? How can a member participate? * Once you have completed the course, please let us know in the comments of this post. * Also, tag any 3 members you know to invite them to take the quiz as well. * Your responses to the course will be graded and if you successfully passed it, you will receive, “Compassion Hero” badge. * If you didn’t pass, that’s okay. Feedback will be shared and then you can retake the course. Please remember that this course is designed to help you practice compassion and empathy for yourself and others. Because it is kindness that makes any place a better place to live in. Also, it will make you feel more comfortable, and well equipped to participate and be a wonderful participant in the group support chat rooms and forums. Calling All Verified Listeners: Help Wanted on the 7 Cups Welcome Committee!
by Heather225
Last post
December 2nd
...See more The hardest part of the journey is sometimes the beginning, and this is especially true of our newbies. We as a community have the power and ability to ensure they get properly oriented and supported so that their journey is smooth. I have been actively contacting newbies over the past couple of months and the results have been inspiring. Roughly 80% of those I sent a personal message responded to me and very appreciatively! That's a really big deal because those people have a much higher chance of being retained (retained = staying on 7 Cups). But I need help! So it's with great excitement, that I announce the revamped relaunch of the Welcome Committee! Through this initiative, we can meet our newcomers at the start with a friendly welcome (think hospitality, a greeter, etc.). We will also provide guidance and resources they need to navigate their first steps. The tasks are simple. PMing brand new members off a list, saying hi, giving resources, answering their questions and sending follow-up PMs to make sure their transition is complete. There's a few requirements just to be sure Welcomers are familiar with the basics of our platform. Requirements: ✔ You must be a Verified Listener (find out how to get verified here) [https://www.7cups.com/forum/listenerjourney/ListenerVerificationProject_1839/GetVerifiedon7Cups_290064/] ✔ 25+ chats ✔ No behavior reports (BPS) within 3 months ✔ Maintenance criteria: 2-3 hours a month to dedicate to this project ✔ Adaptability to changes! This is a new team so we're still figuring things out and like to try new things. ✔ Note: The team uses a google spreadsheet to copy/paste names and log PMs so you'll need access to a computer/laptop device. We apologize for the inconvenience! The monthly quota: Adults: Welcome 30 members (60 messages sent including first PM & followup) Teens: Welcome 15 members (30 messages sent including first PM & followup) You can make a huge difference in our community's growth by joining us. I look forward to building this team with you! >>> Apply here! ...See more Hello lovely people! I am Blue, and I just joined in as a listener yesterday. Thought I would just introduce myself to all of you. Looking forward to making friends with you allllll!!!!! Here is a little bit of my bio to help you know me better:  ------------------------- WHO AM I ? I am a teenager from India, who loves reading books and journaling in her free time. You can call me Blue, and I use the pronouns "she/her". I am often described as quiet and introverted, but I try my best to be kind and warm to those around me. I loveeeeeeee reading novels, specially fantasy and thrillers, and am really interested in watching anime. Other than this! I love computers and would like to pursue a career in computer science in future. Also, blue is my favourite color! WHAT CAN I HELP YOU WITH? 💙 I will try my best to provide you with a safe, comfortable and non-judgemental place to share your emotions and thoughts. You can be yourself with me, and I will never judge you for something you did or experienced.  💙 I am here to be your friend, who constantly supports you throughout this mess called life and listens to you as patiently and kindly as possible. 💙 You are not annoying, you are not a burden to me, you are not disturbing me in any way. In fact, I think I am blessed to have the company of an individual like you.  💙 You are not alone in this journey. Thousands of people might be experiencing the same thing you do and all of us are willing to help. All you have to do is seek for help and we are here. WHAT I MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO HELP YOU WITH? 💙 I do not accept chats that are racist, sexist, or homophobic. 💙 I am not comfortable with topics such as sexual health or self-harm. If you are looking for help with those topics, please contact another listener, they will be able to help you better than I can. 💙 I cannot provide you advices, suggestions, or solutions to your problems. I can only listen to you and be here for you. You know yourself the most and only you can figure out what is best for you. ------------------------- Thank you soooooo much if you have taken the time to read uptill here! 💝 I pray that you win whatever battle you are fighting, and overcome all the odds to reach your full potential and be the best version of yourself. Lots of love! 💖💖💖 ~Blue

...See more Hey everyone! I just found this resource a couple of days ago. I’ve never been to therapy, never sought help in any way outside of confiding in select people. I’m trying to change it, but that change is harder than I thought. I have a chronic illness. I’m young but it’s impacting my life so much so that I just got fired from my job. Our family is struggling financially, everything is unstable. On top of that, I have undiagnosed issues relating to severe childhood trauma, relationship abuse, and so much more. My family convinced me that I was just fine and that it was all in my head. I have such deep rooted and damaged trust in people. My husband and everyone around me struggles to understand my mental struggles, understand that my chronic illness is real and that I’m in pain that is internal. You can look at me and I look like your average young woman, but I am in chronic pain and fatigue. I’m hoping to find myself again, to get the help I need, because I had been naive for too long believing that I could only get help from friends and family, when they’ve taken advantage of my giving nature, taking everything that I have and getting angry when there is none left.

...See more Our son Ben is 30, was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder about 4 years ago then discharged from air force reserves with medical disability. He will not give us a medical power of attorney or guardianship. He went on meds and stopped two years ago. It has been a serious rollercoaster ride ever since. His brain has been living in a spirit world for over two years, it is all he talks about and gets angry about. Currently not sleeping more than two to four hours a night if that. He has been hospitalized a few times in past three years but goes off meds as soon as he can get out. Says he just wants to leave this world/realm and Indiana. Says the spirits keep breaking his spiritual neck. He just did get out of the psyc hospital last week after ingesting a full bag of THC gummies then going into a psyc breakdown. He was screaming that gamma rays were pouring out of his eyes and ears as we rushed him to the hospital. He is reluctantly taking the *** meds they gave him in the hospital, Invega pill and Lithium. It is NOT bringing him out of his manic psychosis. He has a phone appointment tomorrow with a new VA psychiatrist but we know he is going to refuse any suggestions of new meds and so on and try to hang up on the doctor. We hope he doesnt but from past experiences we think he will. I read so many stories of persons with SZ that are functioning and taking their meds and would like to get our sons brain back into this reality long enough to that he can see that taking meds would keep his thoughts out of the spiritual realms. Any advise is welcome. Thank you for reading.

...See more This is the first post from this old sad lady who used to be such a happy and giving girl. What happened? I grew up and made friends and lost friends and had dreams, some fulfilled, others broken. Then I loved and lost, and lost again and again, and then lost to death. Oh, dear, time goes so quickly, and the sun does not shine every day, but when it does rain put the buckets outside to catch the rain and be ready for the drought. Thank you 7 cups it's time to put the kettle on.

...See more Hello. I just joined because I need someone to talk to during the Holidays.  The Holidays have always been hard for me.  They are a reminder of how I can't connect with people.  I can't talk about this with anyone because I don't want to bring them down.   Anyone out there that have similar feelings? ...See more Hi. I'm June. I'm a 15 year old South Korean student. I don't think I'm okay anymore. I joined 7cups because I was too scared to reach out to people in the real world. I really don't want to put a burden on people who are close to me.
