Getting out of negativity

People tell me negativity and obsessing over negative things has become my world now. How should i see the world in a more positive light? I have tried connecting with people but no one really stuck in real life.

You can't just will yourself into thinking more positively if you've already become comfortable with thinking negatively. But, what you CAN do is try to approach your thoughts and ideas from a neutral stance. Journal when you can, even if it's just writing for 3 minutes. Look over your writing and then circle or highlight negativity. On a separate sheet of paper, try to find truth for each negative thing you wrote about- is your cynicism/pessimisim justified here? If not, what would be a more balanced take? If YES, then what can you do about it to make the situation better? Sometimes, negativity is just trying to act as a catalyst for positive change- you just need to be able to move from the 'recognizing the problems' phase to the 'let's take action about this' phase. The goal isn't to become positive. It is to be able to be able to approach topics in a balanced manner and take positive action.

***Trigger warning***
It is like I enjoy negativity, the music i listen to is negative and resonates with me. I am finding it hard to enjoy positive things.

You resonate with negative music- maybe because that is what feels the most real and true to you at the moment? I wouldn't say that's a bad thing. Maybe you can't enjoy positive things because they don't resonate with you, they don't feel as true. We've been talking about negative and positive things, but both of those are value judgements. Can you think of negative aspects of 'positive' things? Can you think of positive aspects of 'negative' things? The world is in shades of grey, not black and white.

Yes, negative aspects of positive things are things like likeability: yes you feel included but you dont get to experience some positive things of struggles. Struggling teaches you compassion and kindness, whereas if you have everything in life you would take things for granted and never understand deeply people who are struggling.

You could try and look at things neutrally and build your way up to something more positive. Maybe find some things you enjoy doing or things to look forward to. Small things add up to big changes over time.

For me making a gratitude journal has really helped me actively search for things that are a blessing. At first it's hard to find a lot of things because we've been taking them for granted for too long and have forgotten to be grateful but once you start the process of thinking things start coming up and you feel happier.
For eg one of the things I hardly took into account was our bodies fighting off things that are harmful for us and our planet feeding us with things we need... there are hundreds of things in our everyday lives we can be grateful for. Try fetching them; it's an interesting journey.

I have been in your place. The only things which brought me out if it were lofty questions and subliminals. look them on yt.
