...See more Hi everyone, I hope you are doing well. This post is about - the 7 Cups Compassion Course [https://www.7cups.com/forum/welcome/Resourcesat7CupstoHelpYou_1275/ReIntroducingMemberCompassionCourse_252883/] which we reintroduced in 2021.  The goal of this course is to understand and know the basics of practicing compassion and help & support our members to have a compassionate experience in the community. This course allows you to foster healthy conversations and connections as well as be a compassionate, loving, supportive, and amazing member of the group support chats [https://www.7cups.com/connect/groupChatrooms.php] and the community. Based on the feedback we received, we made some changes and improvements to make the course a bit more comprehensive as well as covering different topics like compassion, self-compassion, universal compassion, benefits, and challenges, etc to foster a better understanding and practice of compassion in our daily lives.  Who can participate? Any member can take this quiz. Even if you are an experienced member, give it an attempt. Because we are all learning and practicing compassion. How can a member participate? * Once you have completed the course, please let us know in the comments of this post. * Also, tag any 3 members you know to invite them to take the quiz as well. If you do not know anyone, that is okay. * Your responses to the course will be auto-graded and if you successfully pass it, you will receive a “Compassion Hero” badge. * If you didn’t pass, that’s okay. Feedback will be shared and then you can retake the course. Why should you give it an attempt? Because it presents an opportunity to take a moment to self-reflect and assess self-awareness. Here is some feedback that we received on why one took this course.  * I appreciate the opportunity to take a moment and reflect on self-awareness. It’s a good exercise to be intentional and concise. Life is a daily practice, and practicing compassion never hurts. * I was nicely surprised to take this course because sadly some people need to be refreshed on how to treat others, and it's a great feeling knowing that 7cups take that extra precaution to protect all of us on our journeys. Thank you! * How engaging and thought-provoking the questions were. * I liked that the course made me stop to think about compassion and how I can be more compassionate. * I learned a few ways that I could be more compassionate. I'm not the best at reaching out.  * The course helped me understand more about compassion and gave me questions that got me to think. >> Take the Compassion Course and share your score in the comments. Let's celebrate our commitment to kindness together. 💖 [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScMEXP6lopKu4ZJAtmctmwk0vq9Fp7T892gWJteqmQoIJa_Dg/viewform]<< (Text is hyperlinked, click it to start the quiz)

Calling All Verified Listeners: Help Wanted on the 7 Cups Welcome Committee!

...See more The hardest part of the journey is sometimes the beginning, and this is especially true of our newbies. We as a community have the power and ability to ensure they get properly oriented and supported so that their journey is smooth. I have been actively contacting newbies over the past couple of months and the results have been inspiring. Roughly 80% of those I sent a personal message responded to me and very appreciatively! That's a really big deal because those people have a much higher chance of being retained (retained = staying on 7 Cups). But I need help! So it's with great excitement, that I announce the revamped relaunch of the Welcome Committee! Through this initiative, we can meet our newcomers at the start with a friendly welcome (think hospitality, a greeter, etc.). We will also provide guidance and resources they need to navigate their first steps. The tasks are simple. PMing brand new members off a list, saying hi, giving resources, answering their questions and sending follow-up PMs to make sure their transition is complete. There's a few requirements to be qualify to be a Welcomer: Requirements: ✔ You must be a Verified Listener (find out how to get verified here) [https://www.7cups.com/forum/listenerjourney/ListenerVerificationProject_1839/GetVerifiedon7Cups_290064/] ✔ No behavior reports (BPS) within 3 months ✔ Maintenance criteria: 2-3 hours a month to dedicate to this project ✔ Comfortable PMing ✔ Familiarity with Google dashboards and sheets ✔ Note: The team uses spreadsheets to copy/paste names and log PMs so you'll need access to a computer/laptop device. This work can't be done via phone. We apologize for the inconvenience! The monthly quota: Adults: Welcome 30 members (60 messages sent including first PM & followup) Teens: Welcome 15 members (30 messages sent including first PM & followup) You can make a huge difference in our community's growth by joining us. I look forward to building this team with you! >>> Apply here! ...See more Hello.. Life seems so pointless rn, I feel tired and sick all the time. I don't even feel like crying, my heart just aches.. It's really a tough time when your friends leave you as well as the person whom you loved. I never thought that people can even stop loving me but God proves me wrong everytime. But I'm positive, I'll try to be the best version of myself everyday. I hope one day someone will love me just the way I am❤

What is the role and responsibility of a good member?
by
Last post
August 6th, 2023
...See more A lot of talks happen about the role and responsibility of a good listener, and a lot of training, guides, and support is available at 7cups on how to be a good listener. But I want to take a moment here, to discuss an equally important question! What is the role and responsibility of a good member? Members come at 7cups to seek support, but there must also be some responsibility of the seekers too. One is not free to behave in any rash way just because they are on their member account. There is decency required on the member account too. Furthermore (and it's a fact), those members who behave in a kind and respectful manner to listeners get more support than the ones who are disrespectful and judgmental (the giver is more motivated to give when the seeker is kind and respectful.) Please share your views about the role and responsibility of a good member, by replying to this thread!💛😇

...See more Non-binary, oh how you shine, Breaking free from labels, so divine. Neither he nor she, you embrace, A beautiful rainbow, full of grace. Society tries to fit us in a box, But non-binary folks refuse to be a paradox. Your gender expression knows no bounds, You exist outside of binary rounds. We're all human, unique and true, Infinite possibilities, all of us, who knew? Non-binary, you are a gift to us all, A reminder that we can stand tall. Embrace your truth, let your voice be heard, Non-binary, we celebrate you, you're not absurd. Together we walk, in solidarity, A world full of acceptance, that's our reality.

Our Mission

...See more I started this section and called it Glens nook. I plan on hanging out here more often. Ill listen, share my thinking with you, and hope to get to know many of you as we continue to grow our community. We wanted to share our mission with you before publishing it. We believe that every voice is important and every voice matters. Please share your thoughts on our mission below. Our Mission: 7 Cups of Tea is for anyone who wants to live in a world where the human experience is free from stigma and stereotypes and rich with love and support. A world where all 7 billion of us can grow and feel like we truly belong. We believe that each one of us is inherently valuable. We do not measure people based on where they are from, what they look like, or what position they hold. We recognize that people make sense in the larger story of their lives. We understand that people are complicated and that life is not simple or easy. We are all on the same path. Some of us are just starting out. Others are further down the road. No matter where we are, being kind, compassionate, and accepting of one another enables us all to grow. We do not tolerate people being mean, harmful, or rejecting of others. We do not judge or look down on people. Although there are forces that tend to disempower and create division, we stand together as we compassionately care for and champion one another. We see our differences as a strength. We are united in our shared goal of creating a place where all can find acceptance and be welcomed to a home where we all belong. Our Goal: We are living in a world with an immense love deficit, which means that none of us is receiving the love we need to reach our true potential, to truly thrive. Our goal is to build a support system, a web, that can hold every member of our world. We believe that we can fill that love-gap for every person in the world, either because they are an active member of our community or because they are touched personally by someone who has been empowered by 7 Cups of Tea. We will reach this goal when we provide 100 million positive and supportive conversations each and every week.
