Lupe's art corner
Hi Everyone!!! <3
*I'm kind of new here and I'm still discovering how these forum threads and posts work, but bear with me*
I love drawing as a coping mechanism, and I've met some people on here who are also very talented and creative!! They inspire me and I want to create something and share some inspiration!
The Challenge:
Post a drawing idea or suggestion for either me or anyone in the community! Also, share your artwork <3 <3 I love to see it and it can help motivate others to get to drawing. :)
I will do the first drawing suggestion: Draw a fancy kitten!
Here is my drawing:

Hello, Lupe!
I know that the forums take some getting used to. If you ever happen to see me in the group rooms, I am always happy to help answer your questions, if I can. However, this is a lovely thread. I am so glad you have found art as a healthy coping method, as many of us here have. Indeed, it is a quite creative community.
I love your drawing! You have a very unique and distinctive style. I personally find it difficult to use color in my artwork (I usually work in black-and-white or graphite), so I admire your usage of different, nuanced layers of color. Lately I have been too busy for art (unfortunately), but thanks for your prompt. If I ever find some time again, perhaps I will attempt a drawing based on it.
Keep creating!
@lupea867
love it !
This is for @knockoffWolf

I made this when I was grounding myself

@JennyINFP
I think your wolf calligraphy is one of the cutest things I have ever seen! Keep using art to ground yourself, I believe in you. I actually got distracted during class trying to draw Wolf's pfp. It's kinda lame so far but I might show it to you when I'm done. :)
@lupea867 Now to draw a fancy kitten 🤔

Fancy kitten drawn!

@knockoffWolf
I love your art style! Is this in pen or marker? It's crazy how you can draw really cool things in color. That cat looks more than fancy... dare I say... snazzy.
@knockoffWolf
Wow, Wolf! I love it. The monocle really tops it off quite nicely. I love the style you chose and how you superimposed the outline over the more scribbled backdrop, it fosters this unique sense of loose energy that gives it a lot of character. The surrounding scribbles around the snazzy cat are equally cool. I always love seeing your lovely art, thanks for sharing with us!
@InkyOak12
Thank you for all the awesome feedback, Inky! That made me so happy 😄 This drawing isn't in my usual style, but I was having trouble getting anything to come out right in my style, so I changed things up :)
@knockoffWolf
Glad to have made you happy. In all honesty, the true spirit of art lies in just that: throwing all caution to the wind and leaping out of your comfort zone. I've been attempting some unfamiliar styles as well as of late, and most of the results look terrible, but it's quite a lot of fun.
I love the artwork
I hope everyone is relaxing and taking time to do fun things, even during stressful days! <3. I know I need it. Does anyone have a drawing prompt to get me out of artist's block this morning? If not, I'll be back later with a random suggestion.
Take care everyone and take it easy *sending love*
@lupea867
so, I got the chance to draw a fancy cat, per Lupe's prompt! I may or may not have stolen the monocle idea from @knockoffWolf and his excellent drawing. Unlike many artists I rarely draw cats, so I know the fur is suboptimal and things got a bit messy around the eye.
if I had a cat like this I would name him Edmund (Sir Edmund?) and speak to him only in Regency Era style.
@InkyOak12
He looks so cute, Inky! I love the sketchy style Sir Edmund is drawn in. The monocle, hat, and bowtie all look so nice, and the shading is awesome! The shine on the hat looks great.
@InkyOak12
whoahhhhhh *faints at talent* You are very good at adding fictional elements to realistic drawings (especially in pen O.o). I love the detail in the fur and especially the fluffy ears. Sir Edmund is a treasure. *chef's kiss*
@InkyOak12 Cool beans! That's TALENT!
@InkyOak12
It looks so good
Well it's a long day at online school and I need something to do so here is the next prompt/suggestion!!:
Draw anything with flowers.
This is a pretty simple one, but I hope it will get my brain to thinking. Thank you to everyone who is sharing art on here, you guys make me very happy, and your art is beautiful!! *sends hugs* and also, of course, please feel free to post random art that has nothing to do with the prompt, or suggest something completely different. Have fun!
@lupea867
After some difficult sketching, I have come to the conclusion this is a simple and dumb prompt. You guys take over the prompts TnT I am bad at this
@lupea867
Aw, Lupe, it is a great prompt! Flowers are simply difficult to draw; I find it useful to always use a reference. I am not sure where I heard it, but I once read the advice, "Draw from what you see, not from what you know". Basically it means to observe the shapes and dynamics of the actual image, instead of following the image you have in your head. I think it would be useful for something like flowers, where we have an idea of what we think they should look like, but their actuality may vary.
In other news, I am glad to be a part of your art corner. I love seeing all the positivity and feedback here. I will draw some flowers as soon as I get the chance!
@InkyOak12
That's some really good advice! Most of my art style is very cartoonish- so I could use some practice drawing realistic flowers. I hope I can find enough time to actually put effort into a 10/10 realistic flower drawing and not get frustrated lol. I love everyone's art, can't wait to see it UwU <3
@lupea867
Last night I drew a little bundle of wildflowers. I've been seeing a lovely art style where a sketchy ink drawing is colored loosely over with markers or watercolors. I attempted it, but it turns out to be harder than it looks -- I am also not the best at working with colors and markers. Anyways, I look forward to seeing everyone's masterpieces.
@lupea867
Hi Lupe! I tried doing something with flowers!
it's nice to meet you all here.. So many wonderful art :)
@Silverbell27
Hi! nice to meet you too :)
@lupea867 you too :)
@lupea867 Pokémon https://ibb.co/qxKBSvF
Ninetales counts as a cat like creature right?
@StormSilver1
I'm not into pokemon so I'm not really sure what kind of creature nine-tails is supposed to be. What I do know is that you're really good at drawing pokemon. I love the color as well <3 keep at it!
@lupea867 Ninetales is a fox
My drawing has nothing on inky's wildflowers <3 (those are the best!) but here goes:
It's a cartoonish drawing of myself- it's kind of idealistic tbh, I focus on the things I like about myself and ignore my flaws. It makes me happy to see myself as the person I want to be, beautiful, strong, and unique. I like flower crowns and nature so...
https://ibb.co/VTZX5Q8
*sorry if it's upside down >w<*
@lupea867
Lupe, this is stunning ... absolutely stunning! You look truly ethereal in this drawing. You look so joyful! I'm also completely in awe at how nicely the hair and hands turn out, it has such a clear, crisp style; I'm very impressed. While the things you perceive as 'flaws' are lovely in their own way, art can be an amazing way to highlight the parts of ourselves we feel confident about and explore our dreams/hopes. I will add that you are the definition of beautiful, strong, and unique; so I think it fits you perfectly. Lovely job. Keep creating!
@lupea867
I absolutely love this!! It's so dreamy and beautiful
How about we draw horses?
@JennyINFP
ahhhh that is so difficult!!! but *flexes arm with pencil* I can do it <3 <3 I've only successfully drawn a horse once before and it takes a lot of effort for me. They are pretty cool creatures.
@JennyINFP
Jennyyyyy I miss you <3 I couldn't draw a horse but I drew my unicorn plushie... with flowers.
https://ibb.co/Zg8DzSq
@JennyINFP
i love looking at everyone's art! so much talent.
so i drew (charcoal/pastels) this horse earlier in the month for one of my assignments. we had to choose a masterwork that spoke to us and rearing horse by leonardo da vinci caught my eye. i liked it also because of all the free movement in the line work. it really let me just destress and enjoy art for what it is and not a grade
@raggedywolf
wow, this is so gorgeous! I think you captured Da Vinci's subtle touches of surrealism very accurately, and your shading defined the form beautifully. I am in awe of your talent, keep up the stunning work.
