panic attacks
Hey everyone, I'm a bit nervous as this is my first thread but I just wanted to ask if anyone had any tips on dealing with panic attacks at school or in class. Anything would be super helpful, thanks!
@missemmazing123 Hi there! I hope you're doing well! I'm really sorry to hear that you're struggling with panic attacks. I know how mentally exhausting they can be. When you're in the middle of one, it can feel like you can't catch your breath and it's the end of the world. When you are in the middle of one, it's important to make sure you take deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth. You can practice grounding techniques to ground yourself in the moment when you are feeling overwhelmed. Just know that panic attacks never last forever and you will get through it! Surround yourself with your loved ones too because they will support you through it ❤️ Best of luck!
This may sound stupid, but drinking ice cold water can help. Even chewing on the ice.@missemmazing123
I always ask to leave the room, or just walk out if it’s really bad, and go to a quiet room or the counselors room with friends that I trust, or friends that have helped me before. I then try to breathe and often end up crying, but I always try to remember, there are people that care for me, I am going to be okay, this will pass. And my friends will often make me laugh when they notice me starting to get really bad. I hope you are okay, and I hope this can help, even if just a little 💙
How have you been doing? @missemmazing123

my anxiety's actually really up and ive been struggling with focus in class. havent had a panic attack since last week though so some positives
It can be so hard to figure out how to manage anxiety. I am glad that your panic attacks are less. That is a victory in and of itself.
What kinds of things do you do in class when you start to get stressed?
Sending peace. @missemmazing123
