...See more I feel like very few people know what the pink tax is, hence the reason for making this. The pink tax, or gender-based pricing, is basically when products, or companies charge more for products targeted towards women. Most of the time these products are the same as the men’s counterparts, with the difference of the coloring being pink, hence the name. Often it is only a small difference, but these differences really add up over short amounts of time. Very few states are actually trying to get rid of gender-based pricing. Often times sanitary products are taxed as luxury items instead of basic necessities. The pink tax is a real issue and it needs to be talked about more
