i used to get sad a lot. one day i started doing this thing where whenever i get sad i put on a happy movie. it worked for a while but then eventually something changed where instead of making me feel better it would make me feel worse. because happy movies remind me of how happy i’m not. so then i started watching sad movies. so then that worked for a while. but then some of movies had really bad endings. i started getting my own ideas for how i think they should’ve ended. i would write it out. it felt good. so i kept writing. next time you feel sad, write. and keep writing. let it all out. get it all out on the page. there’s so much you can’t control but there’s also so much you can. sometimes you need to pause from life to process what’s going on. and to do that you need to get what’s ever on your head and put it somewhere else.

Mostly embracing my inner child
Hi,
I cry. But very recently I started talking to myself sometimes out loud ...if I am alone. And I ask myself...
1) what is making you sad?
Most times it's thoughts about things.
2) Is this sad thought hurtful or helpful to you?
Everytime it's been hurtful.
3) Can you change your own thoughts?
Everytime it's been yes.
So far this has been helpful in changing my sadness to not sadness.
