Do you know any hurt/comfort serie/movie/anime ?

kimidare July 3rd

I would like to watch something where a character is struggling and the other is caring/nurturing/protecting him/her, on the path of recovery. Or saving the one in distress, but where we saw the "after rescue".

I didn't have people to help me or to protect me when I needed it. But watching it makes me feel warm inside.

Please add TW if needed

For example I especially liked Sherlock (TW suicide, drugs, murders). He protects people he cared about, and they are here for him as well when it counts.

Fruits Basket is an anime that might appeal to you. Lots of hurt-comfort.

Hey there! Somewhat late response, and I'm not sure that it's a perfect fit for what you're looking for, but I would recommend the anime Violet Evergarden (one of my favorites!), which has both a gorgeous artstyle and also a really beautiful story.

There are definitely some key TW to be aware of—there are themes and depicted scenes of war, violence, and grief throughout the series, and because the anime has an overarching narrative alongside episode-contained mini-plots, each episode has their own TWs as well (e.g. two episodes in particular depict illness as part of the mini-plot, for example)—and a lot of the stories are really heart-wrenching, but they're all incredible.

Overall, the the anime follows the main character, Violet Evergarden, as she learns how to experience and understand emotions (she had a highly violent childhood, meaning that she never really learned how to experience normal human emotions)—as she recovers, she doesn't have any set 'support person', but rather several mentors, friends, and the clients she learns from as she tries to transcribe other people's emotions into letters. As well, she also often ends up 'the protector' of some of her clients as she slowly grows and understands the gravity of her actions in episodes, and as she better understands how to help people.

Also, it's just really, really good eye-candy—the artstyle is gorgeous and the animation is so incredibly fluid. Highly recommend!
