Where can I go to find a person who will talk with me?
I a 58 y/o man that lives in the USA who was molested as a kid.
Where could I go to locate another individual(s) who posses enough intellect that would allow them to listen to some perplexing questions I have, whether they can answer them for me or not. (realistically within a days commute)
Places that I've tried unsuccessfully are the church (too much homophobia and judgmentalism toward males in general), therapeutic counseling across my life I've seen over 30 at all levels of professionalism from unlicensed rape crisis counselors to PhD psychs and MD psychiatrist (dollar motivated egos and underlying agendas pose too many barriers for anything productive)
Any ideas would be sincerely appreciated. Any ideas please..........
Thank you for posting this I think you raised a excellent issue. What I would wonder is have you ever spoken or been able to speak to others who have expeirenced similar expeirences, I do realise this might be really challenging and something you might not be open to but I would consider a well structured support group maybe?
You could also try a online one first if you wanted to try the idea out first -I am fairly sure this one has a group for individuals who have experienced sexual abusehttp://www.mdjunction.com
This appears to originate out of the UK or Australia perhaps and very much on the same order as http://www.dailystrenght.com . Been there for over a decade and got the scars to prove it. I'm online right here right now.
side bar: Stalking is a very serious issue on-line, and these self help sites are circled like herds of sheep by opportunist. I've got a whole chapter of my life about solicitation by therapist and not to mention addicted people looking for vulnerability.
Thanx

ans: Never. Not even once in the 58 years I lived. I can no longer count the # of 'therapist-counselor" people I've been exposed to, and undeniably the agenda is always misandry. The industry is run almost exclusivly by females with the sole mission and purpose being for females........... and they don't mind putting a male in his place by telling you so while expecting insurance reimbursment and a co-pay. For the benefit of the few, I have been able to express being a victim on rare occasion, but when the converstaion turns to female perpetration, the room turns upside down and I suddenly go under the microscope as a client predator. The industry simply can not handle female sexual predation.
With all that being said, where is a direction I could go off in to find 1) a living person 2) capable of talking to me 3) outside of the counseling industry or the church ??? Love the group idea ! Now, where within a days commute of middle Tn. is one?
To the Miracle the writer below: thank you very kindly. Your link is a site I've not discovered in the 15 or 16 years I've been on-line with this issue of being an adult male victim of female sexual perpetration.
Thanx all, and please reply; Tom
(this post was originally intended as a reply for Miracle....... sorry-my mistake)

For equal time I must add to Miracles question above; " What I would wonder is have you ever spoken or been able to speak to others who have expeirenced similar expeirences, "
I've tried the church route as well, but same response, just different reasons, and compounded with exploitation being exposed in churches by espected leaders.
I need some fresh thinking and a new different direction. If this were any other issue, I'd try a bartender or cab driver........ or ??

Hello. I just wanted to say some words of support. You are not alone in terms of finding a non-judgemental person who can just listen, non-judgmentally and with acceptance. I am an adult survivor of child sexual abuse and I go to ASCA meetings.
I was lucky to find such a counselor, she was LMFT. And she had undergone a traumatic event in life of loosing a grown son. She was able to listen to me. It seems that the other councelors are less trauma-informed, even when they specifically work with trauma. I am still having hope to heal from trauma and live a safe and emotionally filling life.
I hope you will find (or already has found) that what you are looking for.
