I have been tested several times with a few therapists. . . I was told I have extreme depression, anxiety, panic attacks and PTSD.

I have know my tramatic events were just one time things, but there were a few that happened to me several times. . . what makes PTSD to make it complex?

@Rebekahwriter13 Complex PTSD has been controversial. It is not an official diagnosis either in the current US guidelines (called DSM-5) or in the current world guidelines (called ICD-10).

However, many experts believe CPTSD is significantly different from PTSD, and when the new world guidelines (ICD-11) come into effect in 2022 they will include CPTSD as a separate diagnosis. I am not an expert on any of this, and from what I've read I don't see a clear difference in treatment.

The difference is sometimes said to be that CPTSD is the result of "chronic, repeated and prolonged traumas", not just one-time traumatic events. But of course it's sometimes a matter of judgement.

If you want more details, I found this paper from a year ago that sets it out pretty clearly: ICD-11 complex post-traumatic stress disorder: simplifying diagnosis in trauma populations

I notice you say you've been tested several times with a few therapists, but it doesn't seem like any of them successfully treated you? Is it that they tried the standard treatment for PTSD and it didn't work? There are well-established therapies for depression, anxiety, panic attacks and PTSD that usually work pretty quickly, if you can find a good therapist.

If you'd ever like to chat about all this, feel free to message me.

@RarelyCharlie

My first therapist push paxil which was giving by my family doctor. (which put me into a foggy like coma. . . and the horrible nightmares when i did sleep) I feel like I was data from Star Trek. . . I knew my feelings were there, but they just kept adding up and couldn't understand or express them. (I will not do meds anymore. They may work for someone, but not me.)
then he pushed a job just after my ex died. I was in sorrow and shock and i could not do anything propperly.

My second therapist gave me all of the tests but could not make head or tails of my results.

My third therapist I love, but her schedule got full fast and between the pandemic it has been hard for me to see her. She just focus more on my depression, not PTSD.
