Hello, lovely Trauma Community?
How are you doing today?
I recently saw this quote somewhere and I decided to share it with all of you.
" Man never made any material as resilient as the human spirit. "
I know that to some of you, recovery feels like the impossible. Or something we so much dream of but it feels far away.
I just want to reassure you and remind you that anything could be possible. It may be a scary journey, it may be a rocky path, it may be falling and getting up but you CAN get to your destination. I believe in you and I hope you will believe in yourselves, too.
And if you can't really find the light or if you need a hug, a kind word or just a safe space to express your emotions, we will be here with a nice candle, safe hug and cosy blankets.
So we never know when we will just wake up one day and we would just realise that it all feels better.

Today was a day full of breaktroughs and realizations, facing myself, changing my coping mechanisms...awarely.Identifying the ones I do have, where I stand, how they influence me, people around, how I interact and live overall.Worked my workbook today, it was very hard and emotional time doing so.I felt deep emphaty and compassion towards the wounds and impact abuse has left on me, the scars being alone in it for so long neglected has left on me.I felt it all, for the first time ever and this time together with my closest one.It was a day that changed everything.Feeling relieved and satisfied, grateful for recovering in a way like this.I gave my all.Once again.And I'm proud beyond any measure.

Hi, Morfo. Thank you for checking in. <3 It sounds like you have worked on yourself a lot today and you have discovered new things about yourself. That sounds amazing.
Reading what you just wrote makes me so happy. Because realising the things you listed and just processing things, getting back in touch with yourself, it's so important for the recovery. It sure is difficult but just digging deep and processing these feelings but I'm honestly so very proud of you.

Today has been quite and peaceful. Everytime I feel down or need a pick me up, I go get froyo. I realized what motivates me instantly isn't always all that significant. Small things motivate me day in and day out.
Does severe bullying at school count as trauma? Because I don't know how to identify my pain i felt and how it has affected me as person to develop anxiety and depression and have a deep fear of seeing those people again
@cinnamonbun2714 Trauma is different for everyone and manifests in different ways. Bullying can certainly be traumatic

How has today been treating you?
Today has been pretty great, which is the first day in a while where i haven't felt totally depressed. So that is wonderful. I have been doing fine up until about a month ago, and I encountered a series of triggers that brought back old issues. I had some more time to think about those issues after I lost my job. Getting up and out of the house motivates me when I'm feeling down, so going to my first day of my new job was really helpful. I was late, but my manager gave me grace. The kids that I teach are pretty great. It seems like a manageable job. So all in all, I'm motivated and excited by today, the first good day in a while!

@Kate I am doing ok today. Weekends are always a little difficult/ very lazy, since I don't go to work on the weekends. Nothing has really triggered me today, though, so I'm up watching the state basketball finals with my dad and just relaxing. How's your day?
