The Gratitude Project: List 3 Things That You Are Grateful For...
by LisaMeighanMScGMBPsS
Last post
...See more Hi there, Today we will learn a little more about gratitude and learn how to express this. Studies have shown that if you practice daily gratitude practice, it can make you feel happier and improve your health. What is Gratitude? Gratitude is the expression of appreciation for what one already has and not ones future desires or hopes. It is generated from within. This social emotion strengthens relationships, and its roots run deep in evolutionary history, and it stems from the survival value of helping others and being helped in return. Studies show that specific areas of the brain are involved in experiencing and expressing gratitude. Brain scans of people assigned a task that stimulates gratitude show lasting changes in the prefrontal cortex that heighten sensitivity to future experiences of gratitude, thus feeling happier and healthier. Please list 3 things that you are grateful for and share daily if you feel comfortable to do so!

Day 1: 25 Days of Gratitude, Self-Care and Personal Growth for 2024!
by LisaMeighanMScGMBPsS
Last post
December 25th
...See more Hi everyone! Happy 1st December and time goes so quickly. I'm excited to start a 25-day challenge focused on gratitude, self-care, and personal growth for 2024. Those of you may remember that we did this last year and as it was so popular it might be useful to continue. This journey is for anyone looking to nurture their mental health, cultivate positive and perhaps even new habits, and find more joy in their daily lives. Why 25 Days? * Small Steps, big impact: We'll break down larger goals into manageable daily tasks. * Habit formation: 25 days is a useful time frame to establish new habits. * Community support: We'll be here to encourage and support each other throughout the challenge. What to Expect: * Daily prompts and engaging therapeutic content: Each day, we'll share prompts related to gratitude, self-care, or personal growth. * A safe sharing space: Feel free to share your thoughts, experiences, and progress in the comments. * Community support: Let's create a positive and supportive space for everyone. Let's Get Started! We are excited that you're on this journey with us at 7 Cups! Remember: * Be kind to yourself: It's okay to miss a day or two or even five. Just pick up where you left off and all are welcome to participate! * Progress, not perfection: Focus on making small improvements each day. * Celebrate your wins: No matter how small, acknowledge your achievements. 🌻 Let's make this a month of positive change and it’s okay if you are not feeling as positive as you would like to be. We understand that sometimes no matter what you believe, the holiday season can be challenging for many reasons, we are here for you and you may find some of our prompts and content helpful.  Day 1: What is one thing you’ve done recently to take care of your mental health and well-being, and how did it make you feel? My late encounter with pears & kiwis
by Catechism
Last post
June 9th, 2024
...See more It took me way too long to start eating pears and kiwis. I only started eating pears a few years ago (Bartlette pears are the best ones), and I just recently started eating kiwis a couple weeks ago. Both of these are absolutely great in how they taste and are probably fruits that I would have totally ate when I was much younger. I think the main issue is that I wasn't willing to try new foods that I wasn't already used to. Even on my journey towards healthy living, I was unnecessarily concerned about trying certain options that were readily available to me since I might not have know exactly how to prepare them or if I would actually take issue with how they tasted. So I definitely would recommend giving new healthy food options a chance for at least a few attempts before deciding if you really can't or won't want to continue doing so.

Health Benefits of Nurturing Plants at Home
by LisaMeighanMScGMBPsS
Last post
July 12th, 2023
...See more Hi everyone, I hope you are all well. I was thinking about how I often share with my clients that they must remember in order to grow they need the right conditions just like a plant, enough water, sun and nurturing. They also need to remember that every time they water their own plants in their home that they should be also tending to their own garden and checking-in with themselves on how they can care for themselves. Did you know that having plants in your home comes with health benefits? Pretty cool, right?! :) You can learn more about them below. Plants reduce stress and make you feel happier Studies have shown that plants help you to feel happier, more grateful and healthier and it can even help if you have a space in your home to own a plant or even bring one to the office. Plants have been known to reduce stress, anxiety and fatigue. Plants can make you feel better! Certain plants have been found to help you cope with having allergies. Pretty remarkable! Plants can also help you feel better from common colds too. Plants add a natural and beautiful aesthetic to any room One of my favourite things about plants is that they can brighten up any room and make it feel more brighter and natural. It can add a nice touch to just about any room! Plants purify the air you breathe in As we know, plants help us breathe in healthier oxygen which is incredible! They help to purify the air and remove toxins. If you are a big plant fan like me, please show us some pictures of your plants or if you do not have any yet, perhaps you can share with us your favourite plant?

Loneliness

...See more Both single and taken individuals can experience feelings of loneliness. Being in a relationship or being single does not necessarily determine a person's level of loneliness. Loneliness is a complex emotional state that can be influenced by a variety of factors, such as social connections, physical isolation, emotional support, and personal circumstances. A person may feel lonely even if they are in a relationship if they lack emotional intimacy or feel disconnected from their partner. On the other hand, a single person may feel content and fulfilled in their social relationships and not experience loneliness. It's important to recognize that loneliness is a normal human experience and seeking support from friends, family, or mental health professionals can help individuals alleviate feelings of loneliness.
