Day 1: 25 Days of Gratitude, Self-Care and Personal Growth for 2024!
Hi everyone!
Happy 1st December and time goes so quickly. I'm excited to start a 25-day challenge focused on gratitude, self-care, and personal growth for 2024. Those of you may remember that we did this last year and as it was so popular it might be useful to continue. This journey is for anyone looking to nurture their mental health, cultivate positive and perhaps even new habits, and find more joy in their daily lives.
Why 25 Days?
Small Steps, big impact: We'll break down larger goals into manageable daily tasks.
Habit formation: 25 days is a useful time frame to establish new habits.
Community support: We'll be here to encourage and support each other throughout the challenge.
What to Expect:
Daily prompts and engaging therapeutic content: Each day, we'll share prompts related to gratitude, self-care, or personal growth.
A safe sharing space: Feel free to share your thoughts, experiences, and progress in the comments.
Community support: Let's create a positive and supportive space for everyone.
Let's Get Started!
We are excited that you're on this journey with us at 7 Cups!
Remember:
Be kind to yourself: It's okay to miss a day or two or even five. Just pick up where you left off and all are welcome to participate!
Progress, not perfection: Focus on making small improvements each day.
Celebrate your wins: No matter how small, acknowledge your achievements. 🌻
Let's make this a month of positive change and it’s okay if you are not feeling as positive as you would like to be. We understand that sometimes no matter what you believe, the holiday season can be challenging for many reasons, we are here for you and you may find some of our prompts and content helpful.
Day 1: What is one thing you’ve done recently to take care of your mental health and well-being, and how did it make you feel?

Sounds nice! Is there a prompt or question for this day, as it is day one of 25, and there is supposed to be a prompt each day of the 25? I'm a bit confused.
@cloudySummer
Good question! I didn't initially have a prompt for this post as it was just an introduction to the event in December but I've added a prompt now and would love for you to get involved if you feel comfortable sharing :)
@LisaMeighanMScGMBPsS Thank you!
Day 1:
What is one thing you've done recently to take care of your mental health and well being, and how did it make you feel?
Exercised and ate a bit of chocolate 😁 . It made me feel balanced.
@glowingPresence86
It is important to have a good balance in life :) I hope you enjoyed your chocolate and exercising too!! 😃
@glowingPresence86 yaaaay chocolate😁😁
I exercised on the fitness bike today. I felt a bit less angry and a bit more exhausted afterwards.
@cloudySummer
Nice! It takes a lot of motivation to exercise and you did so well. How did it feel afterwards to feel less angrier?
@LisaMeighanMScGMBPsS I felt like a traitor. Guilty. And calmer, too.
@cloudySummer hope your feeling ok now ❤
@LisaMeighanMScGMBPsS thank you for kicking off this event!
Day 1: What is one thing you’ve done recently to take care of your mental health and well-being, and how did it make you feel?
Whenever I get stressed rather than go to the refrigerator to quell my anxiety I have been doing exercises like 5 minute Tai Chi on youtube because it is energy work that is easy and makes me feel good and more grounded and not lost in my head.
@soulsings
I love this and you felt grounded doing Tai Chi :) how did that go for you in the moment and afterwards? Mindfulness is so important and this is great to hear you often do this.
@LisaMeighanMScGMBPsS well in the moment I feel resistance to starting but I know from past experience that if I do the Tai Chi I will feel better. So Tai Chi is a slow motion exercise that helps me connect with my breath and the energy.
If you are interested there is an easy exercise that is not very strenuous and uses a couple of the Tai Chi moves in 5 minute exercises on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEOS2zoyQw4
There are 7 other modules if you tire of that one. The first one does a lot of explaining and after that she does it silently.
@LisaMeighanMScGMBPsS
Thank you for creating this event, Lisa! Great post too!
What is one thing you’ve done recently to take care of your mental health and well-being, and how did it make you feel?
I took a long walk and then sat down in the garden to enjoy the beauty of my plants. It relaxed me and made me also feel good about all the work I've done in the garden.
@amiablePeace77
Thank you for being so involved in all of the 7 Cups events including this one as you are gifted at creating therapeutic prompts and discussions at 7 Cups :) It's so nice to see you here!
What plants do you have in your garden? I love that you love your plants. I am a plant person myself and they are so inviting and therapeutic! Tending to plants is so good for our mental health as when we tend to those we usually are in a state of mindfulness. It's a good reminder to also look after ourselves when we are caring for our plants too!
@LisaMeighanMScGMBPsS
Lisa, I find my plants seem to take all the stress away. 😊 It's also so refreshing to breathe in fresh air. The garden is filled with vegetable plants like Cassava (tapica), yams, sweet peppers and many many green leave plants (good for our guts!) and different types of flowers like amaryllis. What is one of your favorite plants?
@amiablePeace77
It's so nice to hear how you love spending time in your beautiful garden. :) I love rose bushes and plants with beautiful flowers that are bright and inviting. I've got a lot of indoor plants too and my favourites are orchids! It is so nice hearing how you are growing your own nutritious food!
@amiablePeace77 I love to sit out on the garden too, listen to the birds, it's very relaxing ❤❤
@LisaMeighanMScGMBPsS I looked at myself in the mirror today and said," you're beautiful, no matter what those hurt people say about you and your belly, about you face, hair whatsoever, you're beautiful and capable of love and respect." I'm believing in myself today so that I don't feel the need that someone has to believe in me to feel good 🤍💪❤️🩹✨
@crimsonPapaya7218 that's awesome you are definitely capable of love and respect. Your such a amazing presence here at cups ❤ and I'm honoured to be able to call you my friend ❤❤
@crimsonPapaya7218
What a beautiful and supportive message you told yourself. What is something supportive that you're telling yourself today? Thank you so much for sharing!
@LisaMeighanMScGMBPsS Thank you for this post😁 hugs you tightly ❤
Day 1...... After being stuck in hospital for 4 weeks, depression started taking over, but I kept my self busy, with listening to xmas music, being here on cups, and small activities, it definitely helped my mental health ❤ I'm home now 😁 and I'm feeling much more relaxed, my self care since I got home is playing with my piggies (guinea pigs) talking to God and my son in heaven ❤ and decorating for xmassssss 😁😁😁
@Tinywhisper11
We are so glad you are back home now and I am sorry to hear you were in hospital and I hope they took good care of you. We are so glad you are back now at 7 Cups and with your guinea pigs too of course and the things that bring you meaning and purpose. 🌻
Day 4
I stopped talking to a person who I realised was invalidating me and a bit toxic. It bothered me for 2 days. I tried rationalising their behaviour than I just stopped and realised how awful I felt after talking with them and I don't have to talk to this person at all.
We were just getting to know each other so I thought I should be kind to people in general but I decided to be kind to myself instead:)
Now I feel great like I am my own super hero. I saved me :)
I really appreciate threads like these it does help me to take time to reflect on daily wins 🏆
@glowingPresence86
You placed good and healthy boundaries in your life and it made you feel better. Listen to that feeling and how you feel now. It's so important we are kind to ourselves and find nurturing and healthy relationships :) I am glad you are enjoying this thread and great work on reflecting on what has made you feel grateful during your day.
Day 1: What is one thing you’ve done recently to take care of your mental health and well-being, and how did it make you feel?
I allow myself to have a little fun. Depression and grief have had their teeth in me for over a year. To joke around and laugh felt like relief
@mytwistedsoul depression, grief and a roosters teeth in you😁❤ I'm glad you make time for fun ❤❤ hugs you tightly ❤
@Tinywhisper11 You help. You're contagious. You make me laugh and not feel so alone. You bring joy and lightness to so many people here and I can't begin to tell you how grateful I am to have a friend like you ❤️
@mytwistedsoul I love you too friend ❤❤
@Tinywhisper11 ❤️❤️
@mytwistedsoul
How did you bring some joy into your day? :) Thank you for sharing!
@LisaMeighanMScGMBPsS I hang around @Tinywhisper11 😊
@mytwistedsoul awwww😂😂😂😂
@LisaMeighanMScGMBPsS I wasn't in the taglist but I wanted to answer also :) What is one thing you’ve done recently to take care of your mental health and well-being, and how did it make you feel? I started a routine of taking walks everyday in the evenings and sometimes during the afternoon depending on if I'm wanting to get out for awhile. For me taking these walks feels almost therapeutic cause it helps me to relieve any built up energy that could cause me to get anxious or anxiety, but also I just really enjoy the evenings when the sun is starting to set..especially during christmas time, something about it is calming almost. I've been listening to the book wicked also while I walk so it makes the walk even more interesting
@amusingWest5360
Hi there,
All are welcome to join in and feel free to add yourself to the taglist using the form in the original post :)
How lovely! Walking is so good for us in many different ways and I also find it so helpful to create a sense of calm. Are you enjoying walking around looking at the Christmas lights too?
@LisaMeighanMScGMBPsS yes
