One of the more well-known brain chemicals is dopamine. Dopamine, the so-called "happy" neurotransmitter, plays a role in motivation, mood, memory, and movement. It is important to have healthy levels of dopamine in our bodies, meaning not too high but also not too low! 

High dopamine symptoms include anxiety, excessive energy, insomnia, and hallucinations. Low dopamine levels are associated with brain fog, mood swings, and muscle spasms. 

Today, I would like to share with you some exercises and activities which can be helpful to maintain healthy dopamine levels. Like a menu at a restaurant you get to pick the ones you like!


Exercise

5-10 minute Cardio workout

5-10 minute Stretching

20 minutes of fun exercise

5 minute Tai Chi on youtube

"Shake the tree"  


Foods

Eat foods that increase dopamine

Have a small piece of chocolate


Activities

Spend time on your hobby

Listen to your favorite music

Write into your journal

Watch a movie


Self-care

Take care of your appearance

Meditation

Call a friend

Take a warm shower

Do a self-massage
