Welcome to the Therapist Sub-community August 2021
Welcome and thank you for joining the 7cups Online Therapy Sub Community!
Some people have questions about what therapy is like. Here is a post explaining more about therapy by LisaMeighanMBPsS , clinical director of therapy at 7cups:
Therapy is the process of meeting with a therapist to resolve problematic behaviours, beliefs, feelings, relationship issues, and anything that is on your mind. It can be a great place to have a safe space to talk about the things that have been bothering you. Beginning therapy can be a big step toward being the healthiest version of yourself and living the best life that you can, no matter what challenges you're experiencing. It might feel daunting at first as even positive change can be really tough! Through therapy, you can change self-destructive behaviors and habits, resolve uncomfortable feelings and improve your relationships.
Your relationship with your therapist will be a close and trusting connection but sometimes it can take time to develop or you feel like it might not be a great fit between you and your therapist, it's important you find the right therapeutic fit. Please let us know if you have any more questions!

Hello, I’m actually not eligible for therapy on this platform (My country isn’t listed in the places in the drop-down box when filling in a request for a therapist). I misclicked and joined this community but I’m happy to lurk here. I’m a fourth year medical student, kinda busy, with some days busier than others…
Hi I am a female and I am sensory disabled and abused and I have complex psychiatrist problems which can treat with psychotherapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. I like schema therapy and I'd like to go to a mentalization-based therapy.
hi my name is casey, i'm 29 and just went through a bad break-up which made my insecurity and anxiety worse than i could have ever imagined. one therapist said that I need to have cbt because of my cognitive distortions but i don't have the privelege to join an online therapist because finance isn't going very well. I am glad I can join these support groups and it matters a lot to know that I am not alone.

I have been dealing with depression and anxiety my whole life and recently I'm dealing with something and its feels like its getting worse.
Hi! I’m 24, content/creative writer, and I wanna get through isolation on a work from home setup
@Hmarqueses1 I hope you find a routine that helps you get through these tough times.
Self care is most important. For everyone it can be different. For me morning exercises, a high protein low carb diet and practicing mindfulness.
Routines of when I work and when I do self care are set during the week and help me stay balanced
Hope you get the support you are looking for.
