Help With Philosophy Homework

CarmillaRouge13 February 10th, 2019

Hey everyone,

Sorry if this is an inconvienence, but for my philosophy class I'm supposed to survey 5 people about their thoughts on science/the scientific method.

There are three questions to answer, and there is no right or wrong. I just need to learn what people's thoughts are on the topic. The only issue is that I don't really know of 5 people in my life. If anyone could help me, by answering these questions that would be greatly appreciated.

If not, that's cool too. Just thank you so much for reading.

Questions:

1. What makes a claim scientific?

2. can Scientific claims be false?

3. when should a scientific claim be accepted?

Unfortunately, posting about non-7 Cups related topics such as surveys is not allowed here (it's rule 9 in the Forum Guidelines).

If it was allowed I would have said. 1, A claim is scientific when there's an experiment that could prove it to be false. 2. Yes, and they often have been. 3. When no experiment has proved it to be false. . .yet. But it's not allowed Frowning

Yeah, hi. I'm sorry, I'm just clarifying. I wasn't trying to be condescending. I'm thankful that you did answer, and I'm sorry for posting this. I'm having a bit of trouble trying to figure out how to delete this, as I did not mean to violate guidelines.

Yeah, I'm really sorry. I don't know what to do. But, yes, I will not post anymore content like this here on 7cups.

Don't worry about it Winking Someone might come along and delete it. I wasn't trying to be a scold, just letting you know.

@CarmillaRouge13 Still, posting here seemed very resourceful! Perhaps you could try a different forum, perhaps one specialized in philosophy, or studies?
