Depressed student

How do you do well in school when you're severely depressed and anxious?

(I told my school I was fine cause they had concerns that I wouldn't be able to cope with the workload and would have rejected me otherwise)

In my case I try to get into what I have around me but many times it does not work for me but you can try.

Hmm.. this sounded like myself back in high school! Except I didn't do well, and only passed my classes enough to get into the lowest qualified University. Thinking back though, it would've helped if I had friends that I could share my worries with (I was friendless), or seemed professional help, or had support from my family.

Try to tackle your studies little by little. I know that being severely depressed will result in the lack of focus and your attention span will be short. So, when you're studying, do it in small chunks, with breaks in between. During your break, do something that makes you feel good, could be listening to an upbeat song, a hobby you enjoy, watching a comedy clip on YouTube.. etc.

With anxiety, is it from your schooling or are you just anxious over everything in general?

What makes you think your school would reject you if you've told them you have troubles coping with the workload?

Hey, depression is commonly linked with school, unfortunately. Many students feel that way. Depression is not easy to overcome, it can take a long time for someone to overcome it. Sometimes it can be due to the people around you, the negative vibes around you. Otherwise, it can be something internal. You can feel bad about things and it is just in you. If it is due to external problems, then you should try being friends with new people or try studying in a different environment, like a library or something. If it is internal, then it means you need to get motivated, listen to music, go out on walks and I think you will feel better. Of course, this will not happen overnight, this is going to take some time though. I hope this helps.

Hope you feel better

Does your school have student counselors? I hope they can help you. I am also struggling with this as well. I have a counselor and go to online support groups, but I am still struggling. I rely on setting timers to push myself to keep going or start something, even a timer for 10-15 minutes.
