From Consistent to Nothing

P3pperm1nt July 25th, 2022

I'm disappointed to myself. I didn't make it to the honors list this year. This is all my fault... I'm a disappointment in this family. I just wanted to cry so bad in an empty room, this is like the end of me. I wish I never existed. I used to be a consisted honor student but now it's all nothing. I'm sure my parents are disappointed in me.

Friend.

Please don't be so hard on yourself. I guess you have done your best and that is all you can do. Maybe you get some support here at "Student and Career support".

All the best from Helga.

Honors list, I'm guessing this is for high school? If you had been on the honors list each year, I can imagine the devastation of not making it on the list this time around. As long as you've tried your very best to get good grades, that is all that counts. If crying will help make you feel better, have a good cry, but it's not the end of the world. Yes, to have good grades may make a difference when you choose which University you want to attend, but in the end, it's all about the process of learning, the amount of effort you choose to put in, and how you define success. I know that our parents will influence us, as they have expectations of us when it comes to our education, and yes, they may feel disappointed, but they are not the ones going through with school, they are not the ones that may be struggling with certain subjects. So, don't be too hard on yourself. As long as you've given 100% of effort into your studies, you have done well. No matter what the outcome is. Just keep moving forward, and if you feel you haven't done enough, dedicate more time and effort into it, and you will go far~
