Remembering Tazzie
It is with a sad heart that I share with you all that Tazzie has passed. Tazzie was an active listener that joined us in September 2016. In this role, she helped over 272 members. She also served as a leader on our platform and most recently as an admin focusing on our sub-communities. We don’t track how many listeners other listeners help. It is safe to say that Tazzie has helped thousands of us.
You can see Tazzie’s spirit in her first post on 7 cups.
Hello! I am a trained active listener. I am doing a Masters in Counseling right now and I am enjoying school. I am here right now because I would just like to share a few positive words with everyone. Hope this adds to your happiness or makes you feel better :)
I draw from my inner strength and light.
I trust myself.
I have as much brightness to offer the world as the next person.
Best wishes,
Empatheticlistener88.
Tazzie shared music with me, encouraging messages, a stalwart hope, and a firm belief that we could redeem things and work hard to make things better. I read her listener reviews which you can find here. I see these same themes in the people she helped. This one stands out to me:
“Tazzie is the most incredible listener I've ever met. She is not only an amazing ambassador, but so incredibly kind, sweet, and gentle with me. I talked to her while having a breakdown, and she calmed me down fast. She encouraged me, and really made me feel loved and honoured with all her words of kindness and appreciation for me. I couldn't have asked for a better listener. She is incredibly strong at this and the world needs way more people like Tazzie. I believe in you.”
She was also great at capturing visuals. I’m not great at this. She sent me the below gif. This is the only gif I’ve ever downloaded onto my phone. I love it. You can sense the hope in it. Much more you can see her spirit in all of our birthday videos. Taz was a curator of the best of what makes 7 Cups 7 Cups. She could see strengths, light and hope in all of us in a rare and beautiful way.
I was surprised to hear of Tazzie’s passing. She had a terminal illness and did not share many details with me. I am not at all surprised to hear about how she has impacted many of you. I felt her belief in me and witnessed her belief in others. We will miss you Taz. Thank you for reminding us of the power of hope and light.
We have reached out to the family and we are awaiting details on how best we can provide support and make contributions. I will update this thread as soon as we hear more. Thank you and please share any thoughts below that you would like us to share with her family.
Please help us remember her by sharing 1 or more of the 3 topics below.
When you think of Tazzie, you think of…
Your fondest memory of Tazzie?
Thoughts and wishes
Heather:
It is with deepest sorrow that we heard the passing of our beloved friend, Tazzie.
Tazzie, our Subcommunity Admin, was living with a terminal condition, and despite that, she managed to accomplish incredible feats. 7 Cups was her passion, and she put her heart and soul into serving for our community in a way that you can see ripple across the site. She has touched countless lives here in her time on Cups. I am honored to have worked closely with her and to see her level of care in action every day. I have always stood in awe of Tazzie’s strength, grit, and ambition.
Tazzie is most known here for her dedication to the subcommunities. She’s also the creative behind our birthday videos over the last few years.
Our subcommunities wouldn’t be even half of what they are now without all the love and work Tazzie poured into making them so great. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered, and Tazzie will forever be a part of our community family.
Obs:
This is an unfortunate and huge loss for all of us. It was shocking and unexpected to hear it. She made a huge impact through her efforts, dedication and commitment in the community. Her biggest contribution was that she went above and beyond to improve the subcommunities and made it a better place for all to seek support and compassion.
Once Tazzie and I were discussing a few things and I told her that she is the Subcommunity Queen and how much we appreciate her. And, she responded that she is Just Tazzie. And in our following conversations we used to greet each other as, “Hello JustTazzie/ JustT” and she used to reply, “Hey O”. She was an amazing friend and colleague.
But, even though she used to say she was just Tazzie, we all know that she is “The Tazzie”. She is irreplaceable and there are not enough words to express the gratitude for her presence and being with us all these years as a friend and a leader. She is part of the 7Cups Family and she will always be!
May she rest in peace. I miss her...
Hope:
Taz’s demise has been a huge loss for the community team, the leaders she worked with and the community as a whole. I have had the honor of knowing Taz since the beginning of her journey. She has been a committed listener, mentor and then leader in many domains of which her work with sub-communities is the most known. She is one of the most genuine and hardworking people that I have ever met. Despite her illness, she fought on bravely and held onto hope.
I got to work closely with her when she was a sub-community ambassador and her passion and enthusiasm for sub-communities was exceptional. She dedicated a lot of her time to providing care and support to our community. I have shared many fond memories with her, from the time when we used to provide peer support in the Listener Support Room to working on sub-communities together. She believed in the work she did and I am glad she was able to do the work she loved as an admin these past few months. It is unreal having to write this message but I hope that as we remember her, we can think of all the good memories that will stay with us even if she isn’t here anymore. Rest in peace Taz, You will be missed.
@GlenM
This is such a heart-breaking news. I never personally interacted with her but did see a few of her posts & I always got a feeling that she was an epitome of Humanity. And this is now confirmed after reading such warm tributes being paid to her by all of those who worked/interacted with her in different capacities.
It was indeed very courageous of her to have spread so much of positivity despite knowing well how & where her life was heading to. Amazing soul. May she rest in peace. Amen.
I would humbly like to request @GlenM and other community leaders here to think of adding in her profile Tazzie | Listener - Epitome of Humanity
instead of Tazzie | Listener - Pinnacle 9
That could be our small way of honouring her contribution in helping thousands of people worldwide.
@Human4Human maybe editing her about me to include the gif that she had shared in the past and to link to this thread if her profile is going to remain up for those who come back to the community and try to contact her

@GlenM 😢 THANK YOU FOR LETTING US KNOW <3 MISS YOU TAZZIE ONE OF THE BEST EVER ON THIS SITE .

GOD CALLS THE BEST HOME SOONER <3 BUT WE SURE NEEDED OUR TAZZIE
@Tyedyedbutterfly65
you are so right! We needed her but god wanted his angel back.
@GlenM @Heather225
I do hope we will have a 'Tazzie badge' soon then, please? A special badge that can be awarded to those that give support and dedication to all the sub-communities that Tazzie loved. Something that we can all treasure and be reminded of Tazzie when we see it and hear about it being awarded.
I still can't believe this sad and tragic news.
Listening - One Step At A Time!
@MistyMagic
i second this!
@MistyMagic Totally agree !! Tazzie needs to be honored with a badge a big one for the work she done here ! I am sure they will make this happen.

This is so heart-breaking. Tazzie helped me many times. It's so sad to know about her demise. Rest in Peace <3 My deepest condolences for her family and friends.
Thank you so much for sending us a reminder of what an amazing person Tazzie was and of the contributions she made to this community. I haven't known her for very long, but when I saw here on forums, I always smiled and enjoyed reading about the different topics she shared with us! We will truly miss here, since she was such a kind soul and never wavered away from 7 Cups' mission. May she rest in peace. ❤️
@GlenM
thank you so so much for making this post glen, and to everyone who has posted in here. i only had the chance to speak with tazzie once or twice, but she was an incredibly kind soul and we were beyond lucky to have her with us. her dedication to the 7cups community, specifically the sub-coms, was so admirable, and everything she did was packaged with love and care. i genuinely don’t think anyone has anything bad to say about her because she was just so hardworking, dedicated, and supportive in her time here. we’ll always be thinking of the wonderful person that was tazzie, and she will be beyond missed. may she rest in peace <33
- @GlenM very touching. New on 7c. But good to see that The T had left memorable footprints. Her spirit keeps alive hopefully by many engaged 7C volunteers
Oh, Tazzie. This is incredibly painful news to hear upon returning from my own health battles. I’ll always miss our chaotically positive chats— I could always count on you to be present, having an answer and have nothing but good vibes. I can’t believe you’re gone. I pray for the peace of your loved ones who remain here in this plane— and for your eternal bliss. There’s no doubt that you’re watching over all of us with that love and sparkle in your spirit— in greater capacities than a physical body could ever let you. Sincerely and with much love, Zaati.
