Open House November 13, 2019: Ask Questions about Leadership Opportunities!
Are you a user in the community? Are you interested in leadership opportunities? Do you have questions or concerns regarding taking on a leadership position?
Well you have come to the right place! For the adults, our very own @TortueDesBois will be leading an open-house to answer any questions or concerns you might have. Tortue is a member who has served as a mega member, room supporter, and forum member leader. They want you to know that you can still get support as a member and be a leader, and they are here to show you how! For the teens, we have the equally awesome @KarrotCake! Karrot is a teen listener and forum teen star interested in assisting both teen listeners and members alike in exceling on the site.

wait is this to become a listener?
@d0g
There are leadership positions open for members too, but if you want to become a listener you can as well.
What kinds of leadership positions are there, exactly?
@Envisage
There are a quite a few! Since you are on a member account, I will focus on the member ones, but let me know if you want to know the others.
Forum Supporter - this is a member role in up to 3 communities. You receive training on how to give supportive responses in the forum, are listed on the subcom page, and gain the ability to edit your own posts in that space. Your main focus will be responding to members seeking support, either through check-ins, the needs reply filter (threads that have no responses), or creating discussions of your own.
Forum Member Leader - this is a member role in up to 3 communities. You receive training on moderation abilities and leadership skills. Your main focus will still be responding to members seeking support, but now you'll have enhanced tools such as moving threads, editing posts, and deleting content in that space.
Forum Member Project Leader - this is a member role that serves the whole forum. There are six projects you can take on, and you can read more about them here.
Room Supporter - this is a member role in up to 3 communities. You receive training on creating a supportive group support environment through supportive replies, conflict de-escalation, and discussion writing.
Team Member - this is a fairly flexible role that depends on what the leader needs from you. It is commonly used for tasks that don't need moderation abilities (ex: processing applications, writing discussions, planning events, etc) or serves as an in between before getting forum supporter or room supporter.
Q&A Team - members can join the Q&A team and approve questions and answers. RumpleSteeleskin leads this team and can tell you more.
Hey everyone! I just wanted to let you know I deleted any responses that are off topic. This thread is reserved for questions or comments about the open house <3
Hi there! ☺
I'm a listener, who had some leadership roles here, but was forced to give up when the amount of time I could commit became very limited for a while.
Happily, circumstances have changed and I'm hoping to resume some of those roles. It will be great to get reacquainted with all the opportunities here.
@ShadowFaerie
Welcome back! If you need help getting involved again feel free to reach out.
@MonBon Why, thank you, my friend. ☺ I will likely be in touch in the coming days.
