Hi everyone!
I joined 7cups because I was looking for more of a support group than traditional therapy at this time.
My background in a nutshell is that I grew up in a high-control religious group and was in several emotionally (and occasionally physcially) abusive relationships. I'm in a much better place now, but am still struggling with the mental and emotional effects of being in those situations through my mid-twenties. Over the years I've been diagnosed with depression, A.D.D, generalized anxiety and C-PTSD. Some therapy has helped in the past, especially when dealing with specific situations. But I don't feel like I've quite found the right one, and given that my needs are not acute right now I'm putting my search on hold until the pandemic subsides. I also prefer scenarios where I can be of help to others, which is why the reciprocal nature of this site appeals to me.

Hello there! I am a newbie here as well, and have been using this site for a week or so. I found a lot of helpful ppl and had some good conversations here. Most ppl here are very friendly. I hope I can get help for my bpd and bipolar and anxiety here in the long run. I'm trying to be a listener as well maybe at some point. I've spent some time in the sharing circle and other chat rooms and continue on my growth path.
