how long have you been self harm free? (possible trigger warning: SH)
I've seen this sort of thing on a couple of other sites.
It's to put your accomplishments, relapses or anything you want it to be
you could post every day if you need to or once a month, no accomplishments too small.
and if you relapse, you are strong. and you can do this.
I will try get back to as many people as I can and if you need message me on here.
if this doesn't work oh well, but id like to see it work.
Hope you are liking all the cute cat pictures! [v] here is your next clue, where can you introduce yourself if you're new to the subcommunity this month?
I've been serious self harm free for five years now, I've tried a few times but stopped myself quickly so have left no damage. My arms, legs and stomach are covered in scars that will never fade away. My reason for stopping is because of my young son. He was two and a half when i was seriously self harming and when he was three and a half he asked me what the scars were, i told him i had a fight with a lion and to this day he has never asked about them again. When I'm very low i will watch videos in YouTube of people self harming and this helps as a comfort. I suppose i have replaced cutting with other things like smoking a lot and by binge eating which is obviously something i need to address. I now have the confidence to wear short sleeves and most people in my life don't even acknowledge them anymore. I've had students and friends children ask me what they are and depending on the age of the person asking will influence my response. I had my sons name tattooed on my wrist so it helped me to refrainf from cutting when i saw his
Well done on 5 yrs clean. Getting a tattoo is a good way to remember something that is a huge thing in your life. I'm planing on doing the same. Well done for being confident to wear sleeves and sometimes telling people what the scars are from? (If you tell them) Binge eating isn't all that healthy but you know that. And talking to dietician can help sometimes. Smoking I know many people that use it as coping so when you're ready to stop, try and try till you get there.
I am proud of you for not self harming for 5yrs! I too quit for my son hes 6. I havent cut in 4 years. Right now I am having urges and always do have urges but always remember my son asking me about it and that helps a little. I also have a tattoo a razor blade wrapped in an orange ribbon and a blood drop.
since 15 of december2014
Congrats, I hope you can keep it up.
It's been more than a year (February or March 2014?) since I have inflicted serious harm (cut). I have had urges but I manage. Last week, there was nothing to cut myself with so I tried to scratch my arms, which didn't work because I had short nails, so I ended up writing out disgusting words on my arm instead and washed them all of after.
I have not cut in three days
Only a few days. I'm so ashamed that I started as an adult.
A few days is fine, everyone has a starting point. Adults do self harm too. People all struggle some do this. It doesn't matter that you started as an adult. It is still unhealthy and needs to stop. You're age doesn't matter.
Thanks
