Hey everyone! Before I do today's daily check-in, I just want to mention that I love it when the weekend rolls around and I get to interact with you all. It inspires me everytime I see how hard all of you are trying to get better and am grateful to be a partful of this loving and amazing community <3

Having slightly deviated from that topic, now is today's topic of discussion, and it will be a bit out of the ordinary: Interaction with people

As human beings who live in a society, interaction with other people ends up being inevitable. For some of us, it's important that we surround ourselves with people we love and who love us but everyone does not have that luxury. Similarly, interaction with our friends and family can be a form of self-care for some but for others, interaction with people can be a horrifying experience. With all these divergent array of experiences and perspectives, I want to hear from you today on the topic and how it connects to your ability to care for yourself, to heal and to recover from self-harming.

1) How are you doing this weekend? - I'm doing alright.

2) Who are you surrounded by and how is their presence affecting you? - I'm not a big people person so I'm careful who I am around, I pick up on others traits and it affects me alot. So I try and stay with people who are good for me.

3) How do you feel interaction with people and human beings factor in to your self-care routine and how does it affect your mental health overall? - I do make it a point to see my friends once a week, That way I feel included and it lets me go out and have a good time. I think it's good for my mental health just too much drains me.

1) How are you doing this weekend?
Not much really. I slept until lunch today, bc I felt tired and not ready to face the day. I still felt tired when I woke up, but I stood up got to my computer and started working-ish. I had a bikeride, feeling a little more awake after that, then making dinner and then a short walk just because.
I was at my parents' place on friday to saturday to watch X-Factor and just enjoying. Luckily it was then I had SH urges, and I couldn't do shit about it. So that's good I guess. It has been a long time since I last had urges, and this one was very strong. But I didn't want to give in, and I didn't do it. After all I didn't have my blades, so I guess it was a good day being at my parents'.

2) Who are you surrounded by and how is their presence affecting you?
Noone most of the time. I'm just me living with me. I'm at my grandma's once a week, on wednesdays, and that makes me happy. I like helping her and I like being with her and cooking with her. She reminds me that I can have fun with others. I spend very little time with my parents', mostly bc my mom is an ass and it's around her I get my SH urges.

3) How do you feel interaction with people and human beings factor in to your self-care routine and how does it affect your mental health overall?
Not much really. I don't see a lot of ppl face2face, other than my grandparents and my parents. I don't have any friends I see in my everyday life anymore, mostly bc the thought of meeting them makes me anxious. So I feel a lot better just being me, or with my grandparents. They are amazing, and give me what little human contact I need. So I don't crave human contact a whole lot.

Not too well, lowering the dose of one of my meds, and it's making me really irritable 😔

By my aunt, and she generally makes my bad emotions worse, not on purpose, but still

3) How do you feel interaction with people and human beings factor in to your self-care routine and how does it affect your mental health overall?

I get to avoid people, but that also makes it hard to socialize obviously

1) How are you doing this weekend?
just fine I guess. I got myself a case of redbull and I'm packing up my apartment and I'm listening to toons.

2) Who are you surrounded by and how is their presence affecting you?
Nobody unless the tv or y'all count. The tv is a nice distraction and everyone on here is helpful and encouraging. I guess I message my sister some every week or two. So that counts.

3) How do you feel interaction with people and human beings factor in to your self-care routine and how does it affect your mental health overall?
It is a requirement in life to interact with other people. Unless you are a beast or a god. But I try not to have any extra interaction with anyone besides what is necessary. If you do enough outside the social norms of any group you will eventually get kicked. I'm no good for you. You are no good for me. I really don't like being in a crowd for any length of time. I absolutely can't stand a normal get together like a barbecue or similar. Something isn't right but o well.
