What do I do?

I stress eat. I naturally eat a lot and I'm always hungry. I feel like I don't know how to help myself. I don't want this to continue but it's hard. School just makes it worse. What do I do?

@StrawberrySweetTea
So, you stress eat and you've identified school as a stressor in your life. It's not like you can remove school from your life, but is there any way to make school LESS stressful? Could you take it easier on yourself and not always get the best possible grade? Could you get a tutor? Could you take notes with different fun colors? Could you write little encouraging notes to yourself and slip them into your pocket to read at lunchtime? Could you meet up with friends to study? Is there any way you can make doing your homework more pleasant (like a routine where you light a candle or classical music or something- romanticize it.)? Now, you don't want to continue stress eating. So, while you are thinking of ways to make school less stressful, also think of alternatives for coping with stress. Maybe you could chew gum, keep your hands busy with a fidget toy or a portable puzzle or stress putty, maybe you could have a perfume/cologne roller bottle apply to your skin or some lotion, maybe you could carrying around seltzer water for the sensation without the calories. If you think you cannot control yourself around food, try to remove yourself from it- stay away from the kitchen while you are stressed and keep food out of your room. Study at the library or in another place where you don't have access to food. Don't carry extra food or snacks with you that you know you might stress eat. If you feel the urge to stress eat and you still can't control yourself, take some music/podcast and go for a drive or for a walk. You can break the habit! I'm currently trying to break my own bad coping mechanisms, so I hope we can get through this together.
