Pain In An... Uncomfortable Place... :(
I've been having trouble lately with pain in my groin area that might be a side effect of diabetes. I have done a bit of research on it and the possibilities of what might be causing this issue are troubling me. Any tips on how to stop assuming the worst and worrying about it?
a.) Don't assume, go to a doctor and have it checked because that's the only way you'll know for sure if you have diabetes or not.
b.) You could be a hypochondriac, a person who obessively worries about the possible illnesses they have.
c.) Google and webMD does nothing to help you diagnose yourself. I know, I thought I had HIV for a few years because of all the symtoms I had and I was too scared to get tested, which honestly was the only way I could've found out for sure if I had HIV or not. I took the test recently and the results came back negative. My years of worry was for nothing.
Lets say you go to the doctor and you do find out you have diabetes. Then you'll go on treatment. You can still live your life, albeit with a condition that you have to deal with. But that condition is manageable. If you do have diabetes and you don't have it checked and treated, I think you'd end up in a much worse place than if you did go have it checked.
Sorry if I sounded harsh. I only have positive intentions and if I was offensive, I didn't mean to be.
But I understand the fear. Even if people tell you to go have it checked, you still feel apprehensive because serious illnesses like diabetes and such are genuinely quite scary. You know in your head what to do but you still can't face it, and that's okay.
Just stay safe, you know?
Good luck.
@Feces I was diagnosed with type one diabetes almost sixteen years ago. I was wondering if the pain might be related to that. I
@SadSongwriter
Ohhh I see, I understand. My bad.
I thought you meant that you weren't sure if you had diabetes or not, and was wondering if the pain in your groin area was a symptom of diabetes or not. Sorry for misunderstanding.
Im glad you're going to the doctor. I'm sure all the results will be fine, but if not, it's still not the end of the world. Please take care.
Well don't know your gender, but assuming you're a woman.
Muscle tensions: I got that too from time to time cause of stress, the muscles get tensed up and it hurts.
Soaps, shampos etc: chemicals can make it hurt, the ladybits are sensitive, maybe change your shower products to more natural ones.
Boils: hurts like a bitch. Theres little glands down there on each side of the vaginal opening, sometimes bacteria gets in there and you get puss, take a little pocket mirror and see if you see something swollen and/or red in the hurting area, if it is on the outside and not inside the whole.
Hormone lumps: also hurts like a bitch. the inner labias sometimes gets little lumps from hormones.
Heast infections, rashes, a pube stuck somewhere...Pain is caused my plenty of minor things so to just pinpoint "pain" is a bit difficult.
