Unsettling Emotions

EchoEce17 July 6th

Sometimes the whole world seems upside down. Sometimes it feels like things are not right, even though everything is in its place better than ever. Sometimes people you love may take a step back, not to abandon you, but to pursue something vital that marks your growth too. It's in those moments of uncertainty and change that we find ourselves tested, reshaped by the challenges that force us to grow beyond our comfort zones.

Reply to the post and tell us how do you navigate these moments?

Tell us the secret of your strength, not just to know that you're not alone, but to share it with the ones who need it the most.

I'd love to be the first one to answer.

Navigating uncertainties has taught me valuable lessons in resilience and personal growth. I try not to overthink and try adapting to new possibilities. I seek support from my family and friends. I try to listen to music to calm my racing mind and guide my emotions better.

Apart from that, I try to engage myself in activities that are productive and engaging. Taking one step at a time, really helps.😄

Your response is eagerly awaited! Begin typing now! 🤗

Lovely to see you, Echo. Thank you for sharing. I'm glad you've got supportive people around who you can reach out to in times of need and such gentle ways to show yourself compassion during the challenging times.

It's awesome you try to adapt to new possibilities and not to overthink things. Now spill your secrets lol, it's sooo tough to stop overthinking! (':

I think for me, what tops the most is my self-belief, a certain "I got me" belief, no matter how many 'detours' I need to take or how many times I lost my way, at the end of the day (or week lmao), I still got me.

I'll be honest, I'm not the best believer always, and have many slip-ups, specially lately, but somehow there's always some hope, rather stubborn about it I guess haha and "self" to lean-onto~ carrying myself through everything life throws at me. :'D

Thank you for this awesome prompt. Hope to see more responses here!❤

Well being there for yourself is the best possible gift you can give yourself.

I'm proud of you for admitting that you have slipups too, but fall down 7 times and stand up 8. Right?

You're always welcome to share more. I'm here for you if you need anything ❣️ ❣️

@EchoEce17 Love your ways and I do kinda see my ways being mirrored in yours :3 I guess we are all connected either through the peaceful moments or the difficulties. One thing I have observed is that I do get back up quickly once it's over, I do heal fast and I don't let go of the gratitude I feel for getting out of the rain. And I think that hope is always the strongest pull during the storms :)

Hey there,

That's a deep deep deep answer you know. Can't type then all so as deep as the ocean ❤️

I agree we're all connected because we're never alone. Right? I'm glad you heal quickly and that you are always grateful is beyond awesome.

I wish that you never run out of hope, but if you feel low, I'll be here to recharge that for you again. 😄😄

@EchoEce17 This is such a excellent topic to discuss. thank you for sharing, Echo. I'm a highly sensitive person. I have days when I can't think straight based on my own individual emotions plus the external world around me. I wouldn't say I'm depressed, yet I have my high and low moments.

I listen to music a lot. It really helps me handle my emotions. Somedays it's rock and roll and others it's more soft and tranquil music. I take deep breathes and meditate which helps  a lot.

I also enjoy exercising either going for short walks around the yard or town or lifting weights or practicing yoga.  The way our bodies feel really does affect how we think. Sleep is also super important.

The best thing to remember is we're humans and it's ok to struggle sometimes. Always try to open up to someone you trust and seek their advice. Prayer is also a big one. God sees you and desires to help us get through all of our pain and trauma etc.

Hey there,

That's such a great and insightful answer.

It's great how you seek shelter with music and keep your body moving for mood switch. And yes, people do forget that sleep is really really important.

I also love how you brought in the spiritual aspect through prayer. For anyone who believes in the Supreme being, it can be such a safe space.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and playing a part in helping others find their anchor during their tough time. ❤️❤️❤️

@WellsFiction wonderful share! Music helps me too, singing especially if I can sing it out! As someone who knows what it feels like to carry other people’s feelings as well as my own, I just wanted to tell you you’re not alone! Do you know if we have a community on here for empaths? I’m still pretty new around here and learning how to navigate the communities but haven’t seen one.

Hey there,

I really liked how you related and put in your experience with music and shared the same with everyone here.

I am not sure if there's a specific community, but you can always take part in group chats and offer your support to people.

@EchoEce17 This is a wonderful idea for a thread! Thank you for posting it!!

Overall, for me, I remind myself that I am exactly where I am supposed to be at each and every moment in time. I may not understand why I am in this exact place, but I know I am supposed to be there.  Sometimes if I step back and become mindful within the moment I am able to witness and understand it but other times I just find peace in knowing that I am always divinely guided.

Also, I have learned that every challenge or obstacle that I have faced has merely been a lesson that has grown me and directed me along my life’s path. Without all the pain and subsequent growth from these lessons, I would not be walking in my authentic self and living in my purpose. A simple example of this: if I had not gone through the years of psychological abuse that I went through, I would have never known about the impact of this kind of abuse and would not have been motivated to do the work I do, which is empower and advocate for the survivors of emotional abuse, ptsd, and trauma.

Additionally, and most importantly, what has given me the most peace is knowing that every lesson I face, every experience I have, and all major events in my life were decided on in my pre-birth soul planning, which means that I made the decision to put those moments along my path, for one reason or another.

When I am in a stressful moment I work through it by concentrating on breathing from my diaphragm and grounding myself, and then stepping back and witnessing all my feelings and the beauty in each one. Then I do something I love, which is being out in nature, being with my kids, creating art of some kind, listening and singing along to music, having “dance out” moments with my kids, learning new things, meditating, and writing. ;-)

What a beautiful and inspiring perspective! I love how you emphasize the importance of being present and finding peace in each moment, even when things are challenging. Your journey through adversity and how you've turned those experiences into empowerment for others is truly admirable.

It’s so powerful that you recognize your pre-birth soul planning and how every lesson has shaped your purpose. Your grounding techniques and focus on self-care—like spending time in nature, creating art, and connecting with your kids—are wonderful practices for maintaining balance and joy. Thank you for sharing your insights; they resonate deeply and remind us all to embrace our paths with gratitude and mindfulness! 🌟

I feel like I should clarify what I mean by stepping back. This doesn’t mean to take steps to go back towards the painful moment, I simply mean to step back in my perspective so that I can view the whole situation, the full view, to become the witness. To remove myself (my ego) from the situation so that I can really see from a higher point. Like zooming out on a map to see the beginning and the end destinations all at once and not just the single turn or detour of the journey.

@EchoEce17 There's no point navigating  'steps back' when the repercussions and meaning are so colossal and disgusting as to be untenable. To just keep going when there's already been decades and generations of psychological and physical wounding...well, that's the point. 💚

@communicativePond1728

I hear you, and I completely understand where you're coming from. The weight of those experiences can feel overwhelming. It is valid to feel that the impact is too significant to simply step back from. Acknowledging the pain and injustice is essential, and sometimes it can feel like moving forward is impossible.

Your feelings highlight the importance of recognizing and addressing these deep wounds rather than just pushing through. It’s crucial to honor the journey and find ways to process those feelings. Healing isn’t linear, and it’s okay to take the time you need to work through everything. Thank you for sharing your perspective. It is a vital reminder of the depth of our struggles and the need for compassion in this process.

Just a gentle reminder - If you need someone, I am here for you.💚

Life is unpredictable and it teaches us lessons. Sometimes bad things happen for good reasons, we gotta navigate through different phases of life.

Absolutely, life’s unpredictability often brings unexpected lessons. Even when things seem challenging, they can lead to growth and new perspectives. Navigating through various phases helps us adapt and find meaning, turning obstacles into opportunities for learning and resilience.
