How did you meet your best friend?

Happy Friendship Week!! I really love that 7 Cups is doing this and I encourage you all to give gifts here :)
I started this thread because I thought it would be fun to share how you met your best friend!
I met mine after a mutual friend at introduced us at a house show and we've been "bffs" for 7 years now. Although we don't live near each other anymore, I know she is always there for me and vice versa. People can come into your life at any time and change everything; I am so glad to have met someone who I can call my best friend.

Good question. I have friends but never had a best friend. If I have a best friend I was never told. Or if they did tell me it seemed to flakey.
It was my second day at a new high school, and I didn't know anyone. My hair was bright blue. I was really, really shy, and my calculus teacher gave me shit for my hair, assuming I wasn't on the brink of tears already because I was so overwhelmed by the tight-knit community. The kid sitting behind me came to my defense and called the teacher "racist against blue haired people."
