How to support a loved one with chronic pain

playfulPalm95 March 12th, 2019

Have a loved one with chronic pain? Wonder how to support them? Every situation is different, but here are some ideas!

1. Just be there. Maybe the most important, just make sure they know you are there for them and want to help. That is extremely powerful.

2. Offer to do some household chores for them. These can be very difficult when someone is in a lot of pain, so offering to do them is great! Whats even better is just doing them! Trust me, they will notice.

3. Spend time with them, even if it just means laying in bed. They proabably feel bad about what they cant do, so try and find something you can both enjoy together, that might even be a movie night!!

4. Find little ways to comfort them. Sometimes a foot rub or a listening ear is all thats needed to comfort them.

If you have someone in your life with chronic pain or you do, what do you do to help support them? Or if you have chronci pain, what do you like someone to do for you to support you?

going to tag afew amazing people who have helped me through my listener journey!!

I have migraines and chronic headaches. When I have migraines, my bf sends me straight to bed, makes me drink water and then brings me tea (: it's always so comforting when he lays down with me until I fall asleep
