Compassion
How do we remain compassionate to others without absorbing their negativity when we're empathic? How do we remain compassionate to ourselves?

When you show empathy to others, it will help when you try to understand the person feelings and what made him feel that way. Trying to experience the person feelings and feel it by yourself to be empathetic will left you with emotions that are not yours and that can be draining for you.
Treat yourself as you would a great friend. Don't blame yourself for things that are not your fault. and do yourself a nice thing each day. I hope that what you asked

It's very important that we don't take everything upon our shoulder :) we can be a great friend by listening and being there for them, but we shouldn't take any responsibility for their negativity. Sometimes if we absorb that negativity we tend to blame that friend for it, and it'll be meaningless since they will just stop showing their worries.
