March 13th: Special Events Anniversary!
It is the one-year anniversary of Special Events on 7 Cups.

It started from a wish to share and highlight the awareness and fun observances celebrated throughout the world and began on 13th of March 2015, which was the first day of Happiness Week on 7 Cups (inspired by the International Day of Happiness).
Not too long after that, a team slowly began to build following a request for volunteer listeners to help organise events. Since then from July 2015, the team and number of events have continued to grow.
We have so far completed 70 events including 14 that were a week long and 2 month-long events.
That has resulted in over 500 discussions on all sides of 7 Cups, and nearly 200 informative forum posts and forum activities (which have also included competitions and challenges).
Our events cover a wide-range of observances concerning topics such as mental health, relationships, physical health, respect, music, LGBTQ+, kindness, emotional well-being and more. You can find a list of them here. You are also welcome to check out what events we are currently planning for here.
We also hope to further diversify and increase our range during our second year of events on 7 Cups!
Over the time of doing events, not only have our Special Events Organisers worked hard but also our many other volunteers. This includes the discussion writers, discussion leaders, note takers, forum writers and feed writers - those within and outside of various teams such as the Forum Team, Feed Team, Book Club, Appreciation Team, Welcoming Committee, Stigma Warriors, Group Support Teams and many more! Without your support, what have been able to do wouldnt have been possible.
Although small, still growing and finding its place on 7 Cups, we have managed to engage a great number participants during this time. There is also an increasing number of those interested in events and of those joining the tag list to ensure they do not miss out on them! These events wouldnt be the same without your input, support and participation either.
So thank you to every single person who has ever been involved with special events in some way (even those who have possibly not even realised it!). I am extremely grateful. To watch something [methods of raising awareness and bonding with communities] I have long felt very passionately for begin to slowly but surely thrive with lots of support in many forms has been an amazing experience. So I hope we can continue to work together with the community to create great things here, and that some of you have also enjoyed the special events activities here so far!
