@YourCaringConfidant My slogan I am following since the Internet started to exist in the early 90s: Caring = Sharing. There is a saying, maybe you know the Chinese proverb:

There are two men, each one has an egg.
If both men keep the eggs for themselves, each has one egg.
If the two men share their eggs, each has two eggs.

Simple, isn't ? - Its about lots of aspects of sharing, one can share own passion for a topic, he / she is in. and loves to talk about, and ... as for me most important: learn together, with each other, and from each other. I dont just like to talk just for talking. Thats pretty boring for me. I like to come into action.

It feels like, that we drifted (specifically being promoted by social media and internet / mobile technology) into an egocentric world, which seems too often about "me", my own well being (financially, materialistically or even related to emotional needs).

Yet, sharing first is giving, and then taking. If I keep for myself, if I build the fence around my posessiongs, its like building a wall between me and others, And as we know. A will hinders in many forms, it hinders to see us, it hinders even that somebody might do the attempt to knock on our door, as the wall (visible or non vibisle), is a clear signal: Here, that mine, dont set your foot onto my territory.

Sure, we all need our "private zone". We should respect that, yet ... if people live together only by claiming their own zones, from house to house, from door to door, there is no togetherness, and thas what we need, what makes us strong.

Rlated to the World Mental Health Day (annually, 10th October) I listened to a podcast. This year it has the motto "Mental health at work", right ?

It really triggered me, that I had to listen about the "numbers and statistics" are stagginer and alarming high :-( Up to 50% meanwhile in our societies people are affected by mental problems. And in tendency, the younger generation is even affected much higher than the older generation. Thats sp shocking. You can also listen to the podcast on YT for those who have hearing problems with subtitles ... here.

What to do ? I try to be engaged in my community. I think everywhere is need, isn't ?

For example - as I live in NL - I have locally a windmill, and these historical monuments which are astonishing of all that engineering, what we still use nowadays to build machines, can teach a lot about how industrialisation developed. Windmills in NL (and not only in NL) have been used and still are being used to pump water, to grind flour or mustard oil, or for saw mills. Pretty fascinating and teaching young people, school classes about I think maybe one kidd might be interested to start studying engineering after seeing such a "monster in motion". Every Saturday the wind mill is indeed grinding flour.

Another interesting place in my village is a Print museum, there are still all machines in function, going back to the 19th century. - And people can learn how knowledge has been shared by printing books, newspapers ... the village was once of the leading print centers in NL, all gone. :-( So its interesting to learn how all developed, to get an awareness why we can live now in this modern world so comfortable. And for artists I think its still interesting, as some print methods (e.g. using wooden blocks) can produce beautiful art posters.

Another NGO I shortly found and that was really stagging interesting. A "game library". Yes. Imagine, parents have to spend a lots of money for their kids to buy toys, right ? Of course toys are not just for playing to entertain little toddlers, kids and teenagers. They learn in a playful way by games. But for many families, its a huge investment. So in this "game rent-shop", the people can get for a very low rent-fee all kinds of games or toys, from bobby cars, to magic wizard cards, board games, wooden toys ... all kind. So awesome. I am playing GO, its an Asian strategic board game (also called the Chinese Chess). So I walked with the managers of this game-rent-shop and they are interested to get some boards for their clients. As I am also a certified Go teacher, maybe I can give some introduction workshops about GO. In Asia (all front South Korea, Japan and China) parents send their kids to GO classes, because it helps "mindfulness thinking".

I could go on and on, e.g. I row. We have in the village refugees, sitting all day around, waiting for their "papers". I see them every time living in their "refugee ship", when I go rowing. So I thought, maybe its good for them to do some sports, and learn rowing. Why not ? So I went there ni August to the management and asked. Yet, I wait still for an answer. Couple of months ago I met a refugee from Syria with his wife, a dentist (but she is not allowed in NL to work as dentist). Nice people.

We can do so much together, isn't ? Learn with each other, learn from each other. Thats not a burden. Its lots of fun, too.

I am still struggling for financing ... maybe somebody has an idea. I know (too) little bit about "sharing economies". I am now studying about Barter, the older form of sharing. Non-monetary exchange of goods and services. I think "Social enterprises" can run that way, isn't ?
