The beauty of life.
Life is beautiful. If you do not believe life is beautiful you don't see it. If you believe life is cruel you are distracted by the ugliness that comes from the people that do not see the beauty of life. People's hearts are tainted and their minds are invaded by unwanted thoughts.
With the practices of mindfulness a person has no choice but to observe their intentions. When one realizes their true qualities they see that life is harmonious. Not good. Not bad. There is this because there is that. If you feel good because of an experience you are attached to that experience. If you feel bad because of an experience you are attached to that experience.
When one is centered, content and focused they cannot be built up or torn down. This is inner stability, a symptom of self mastery.
I am not saying you should not feel good or bad. You will feel all sorts of things unwillingly. Through the observation of these feelings you will find self control. Organize the mind and it will work for you, not against you.
