“Understanding the four personality types can help you in your interpersonal relationships.

The DISC personality type is based on behavioral research done by Dr. William Marston. And the DISC assessment is a personality test used to measure how people score in the four different aspects of DISC.

DISC can be used as an effective tool to help you better understand yourself and the people around you.

Four main behavioral styles.

D: DOMINANCE

An assertive and decisive personality that loves challenges. They tend to be self-assured.

Priorities: To win! Results-oriented. Taking action to get things done.

Motivated by: Power, authority, and success.

Fears: Loss of control, vulnerability, and being taken advantage of.

Limitations: Easily irritated with opposing points of view. Impatience and insensitivity.

i: INFLUENCE

Enthusiastic, warm, and inviting, this personality type is “people-oriented.”

Priorities: collaboration and social connection.

Motivated by: social recognition, group activities, and friendly relationships.

Fears: social rejection, disapproval, loss of influence, and being ignored.

Limitations: impulsiveness, disorganization, and lack of attention to detail and follow-through.

S: STEADINESS

As the label implies, this personality style is both cautious and enjoys stability. People with this personality type tend to be receptive, and empathetic and make great team players.

Priorities: stability, being supportive, maintaining harmony, and collaboration.

Motivated by: stable environments, cooperation, and sincere appreciation.

Fears: instability, change, and offending others.

Limitations: lack of boundaries, people-pleasing, indecisiveness, and resistance to change.

C: CONSCIENTIOUSNESS

People with a conscientious personality style tend to be analytical, objective, logical, and detail-oriented.

Priorities: accuracy, challenging assumptions, logic, and objective analysis.

Motivated by: precision, attention to quality, use of expertise, and knowledge.

Limitations: over-analyze and overly critical."

Takeaway: The DISC model describes four primary behavioral styles that can be used to better understand both yourself and others. However, depending on the circumstance, every individual can and probably will exhibit some of all four behavioral patterns. A style mix refers to the combination of styles found inside each individual. Each person’s style mix will have more of some qualities and less of others.

Reflection: Which one are you?

I am Steadiness!

@innateJoy9602 This is very informative!

I would be curious to see how these personalities co-exist and react together as relationships.

I believe that when there is love, regardless the personality people can get along perfectly and support each other!

Thank you for the great post!

I relate to influence the most but I also identify with the fears in D and the limitations of C.

Having mixes of them is okay!

Everyone's personality is so unique, its difficult to be just completely one!

So, no worries<3

I think I'm Conscientiousness. I fit that to a T. Accuracy, challenging assumptions, logic, and objective analysis are attributes of my profession. Precision, attention to quality, use of expertise, and knowledge are hallmarks of many medical occupations. And we in my profession can over-analyze and be very overly critical of ourselves and those in our profession as well. ❤️

Thanx for the wonderful post!!

@innateJoy9602

I really enjoyed taking this quiz and the insight provided in my results! I got "S/CD", a blend of Supportive, Cautious, and Dominant traits.

My Supportive traits are probably a little stronger than my Cautious or Dominant traits.

Some words that describe me are:
  • Helpful,
  • Kind,
  • Results-oriented, and
  • Careful

Thank you for sharing this topic ☺️
