If You Could Know The Future, Would You Want To Know?
“We go through seasons of our lives not knowing what is up ahead. We anticipate the storm, trusting we’ll make it through on the other side. We hold tight onto prayers, hope, and peace. Even when things are going great and seemingly perfect, do we really want to know how it will play out?
I wouldn’t want to know that I’d pursue my dreams and touch the sky. The small moments of joy and celebration that would surpass my wildest dreams. I wouldn’t want to know all the people I had yet to love. The newfound pleasure of a kiss and a touch. The different ways I’d find a glimmer of hope in an “I love you” with someone new. I wouldn’t even want to know that the tough times would seem so small compared to all the magical miracles. The magical miracles that would take over in the most unexpected ways.
I would want life to remain a mystery. Unfolding by each second of the day. The sweet surprises and even the bad news; I don’t want to know until it’s time to know. I want faith to be the very thing that carries me. Even as life continues through the valleys of the highs and lows. It is with faith, where I can’t see what lies ahead, that I trust the steps and direction I take.”

✨Discussion: We go through many stages of life without knowing what lies ahead. I'm not sure I'd want to know what lies ahead. I want to be optimistic about all the wonderful things that are still to come and embrace the mystery that is life.

@innateJoy9602 this really does get the mental gears turning. I’m genuinely on the side of wanting to know what my future holds. How much time I have left, or if I have the possibility of future friends or a partner(I currently have neither). Do I get the dream house I’ve always wanted, or do I get promoted in my job? I think for me, it’s been the culmination of the anxiety and hopelessness on life that would want some kind of confirmation there really is a light at the end of the tunnel. That there really was something to keep going for.
As someone who currently has no plan for life, hates ambiguity and needs concrete guidelines and timetables... yes. Plus if something horrible happens in my future I'll just arrange it so I die beforehand ☺️
Most of them confuse the possibilities of their actions with the future.
For example, if I give a piece of chocolate to a kid, the responses are:
1. That kid may eat that.
2. That kid may throw it away.
3. That kid may share it with others.
4. That kid might stare at you.
5. That kid will give you something in return.
These are the possibilities of what you have done already. But the future is that you are doing something right now to gain something later. which means you know that the future is happening.
Therefore, you know the future already, but the possibilities of the action you have already taken are quite tricky. That's how we predict things at times.
To make it simple, I'm having lunch because I know I'm going to live as if the future is going to happen. But I don't know the possibilities of what I'm eating, and the conditions of my body and the environment I'm in are different, which may cause death.
So people are confused that the future is the possibilities of what they have already done.
"An apple is just an apple unless it's been eaten and converted into energy for your body." So the future of that apple is already known when you try to eat it. But whether it's going to be digested or vomitted from your body is called a possibility.

My response was not against this post @innateJoy9602 . I just shared the reality. Perceptions may differ from person to person. But reality remains the same. I just responded in a way that people could understand the root. At least one can get to the essence of reality.
You are right; there is no harm in letting everyone interpret in their own ways. But we are still living under a constitution, and that may cause irritation if they go overboard with their own ways. But yes, there is no harm in letting everyone interpret in their own ways when they can understand reality without any confusion about it. But on the other hand, people always make their own understanding of what they see, hear, and read and believe that's the reality, which causes issues in their lives and causes them to suffer.
So my response is only in order to make them understand, and anyway, you are right.

I would love for life to keep it's mystery, just like my favorite thriller novels. I am a huge bibliophile, and love reading thriller novels. The whole point of the book is to swift through all the pages, and unfold the story page by page! Even though I am guilty of taking a peek into the end sometimes, I usually don't. That is what makes realising things in the end and being OHHHHH so damn swoon worthy! I feel life is like that too, just as disappointing the end can be, we can always start another book ✨
