The way I love
I've only ever wanted your daydream-
I want beautify your flesh and blood
and have you tear me open
and devour me.
I want your heart in my hand
to quiver-
a cup full of romantic tears
in the sunlit abyss.
The only way I know how to love
is to destroy you-
is to drag you down to my basement.
Let's sit in the dark
with this candle, baby.
Let's summon some old ghosts.

You have giving a very unguarded glimpse into passions which are unnerving to read. The language is so aggressive and violent both toward the subject and the narrator. It certainly conjures up notions of unhealthy obsession and/or toxic dependency. Tenderness seems to be inverted into a hungry impulse, and gives the whole poem a very sinister quality.
It is very effective and well written.
@BastionKnight Thank you! I just realized that I somehow missed typing 'I want to beautify...' and posted this despite re-reading it before posting at least a dozen times lol. I must have really been tired yesterday. And thank you as always for your beautiful analysis that really gets to the heart of the poem.
