A Songbird's Cry

aquaaaaa May 15th

TW: vague implications of death, dysphoria, wounds

Even tears withered
I feel my eyes sting
But all has wilted
and my ears ring

I'll continue to sing
even though my voice bleeds
Would you just give me a lead?
Or will I never see my hair grey?

Feet as heavy as lead
these hands that keep me fed
the same that paints me red
another tear I will shed

This flesh prison I'm trapped within
we've been through thick and thin
but I can't look you in the eye
and call you mine

So I'll keep playing my riffs
even if I bleed and disfigure
I am barely even a creature
and my skin crawls and shifts

Heart with a stone skin
yet vulnerable and tender it cups
words like *** that burn me up
"I am your own kin"

The poetry was so beautiful. I think I know what word you mean. It is a shame that the word is censored as it does have several meanings.

@HopieRemi

thank you :) 💙 it’s like my very first attempt at poetry

if you don’t mind what was your favorite part?

Your first attempt really? It was a good piece. Great rhymes but also you could feel the emotion behind the words. It was hard choosing a favorite cause each verse was powerful but if I had to choose a verse, I’d pick the third verse. I love the imagery. @aquaaaaa

@HopieRemi Yeah! I had this in my mind for a few days and i finally put it into words, honestly i really liked my 3rd verse too but my favorite would probably be the 4th stanza

I just looked over the fourth one again. The fourth one is very good. I can feel your pain.
