Protect them both đź’”
Sometimes I sit and think
how exactly I got here
The pain and memories that swallow me up
Nightmares that haunt the healing
I was just a kid who’s life fell apart
A baby brought into a painful world
Dumped into a broken home
A kid from a painful background
So close to death at a young age
But slowly healing that pain away
Remembering I’m still stuck
in the depths of my childhood
But learning to feel love againÂ
Building a new life to vanish the pain
I’ve watched people around me
The people that leave
Those who stay to attack
Endless pain from those to trust
Broken spells casted upon my youth
Hidden secrets about those who abused
Crushed detail of those hidden stories
rotting within a wounded girl
Who’s inner child is locked away
In a prison like form within
that wounded girls heart
Waiting for the light
Eager for freedom
Needing closure
“PROTECT HER”
You cease to shout
Though those words aren’t about
Protect the lost and confused inner child
The inner child with the lack of nurturingÂ
A girl deemed to have a stone cold heart
A girl ready to fall apart
The girl, the child
the hidden inner child within
Wondering how they survived
Surviving the worst of there story
With scars that lurk aboutÂ
“Protect them both” a whisper says…
