Although some people may not consider him as influential, I really look up to Jimi Hendrix. He was an American rock guitarist, singer, and songwriter. His music has been so inspirational to me!

Martin Luther King Jr. is one of those whom I really looked up to growing up because of his hope that we all get along and work together for a better future despite coming from different backgrounds.

Also, my late best friend in Chicago, CM, was originally from Jamaica. We became best friends at work back in 2013 and she passed away in September of last year after a nearly 2 month battle with pancreatic cancer. It was said at her funeral that she never met a stranger ... and she lived her life the way Martin Luther King would have hoped for, as well. 👍

Thanks for your post on Martin Luther King Jr. I admire the silent heroes in history that we don't hear a lot about in movies or the history books. They are or were great supporters of progress.
