Hi, Barltik,
Do you prefer Daylight Savings? I prefer it to be light later. I don't know if that is daylight savings or not.
🐾 Do you have the Time Change in your area? yes
🐾 Why do you think they change the time? for a lot of reasons
@purpleTree4652
Hello purpleTree;
The only way I remember (and this is for my area of the world) Spring is when the clocks turn ahead (which I think is Daylight savings). And Fall is when the clocks turn back (Which I think is Standard time).
I could be completely wrong LOL
So you think there are lots of reasons for this, what do you perceive?
@Barltik2065
I remember reading a list of reasons, but that was a long time ago and I forget most of them. I remember one was so children don't have to go to school in the dark.
@Barltik2065
🐾 Do you prefer Daylight Savings?…Yes I do prefer DST due to longer days with more sunshine. It’s a great mood booster compared to shorter days. I don’t care for complete darkness before 6pm!
🐾 Do you have the Time Change in your area?….. Yes
🐾 Why do you think they change the time? ….supposedly so farmers could have more daylight for their crops back in the day. Waiting on Congress to finally come on and approve DST for Good! It was in talks for the past 2 years, and then went nowhere.
@PoliteOcean
Waiting on Congress huh.
Nothing new there LOL.
Interesting
Thank you so much!!
@Barltik2065
Ha..yeah, tell me about it. Nothing new at all... lol 🤪
@Barltik2065
🐾 Do you prefer Daylight Savings? Yes I do, because I enjoy shorter days at work lol
🐾 Do you have the Time Change in your area? Yes I do
🐾 Why do you think they change the time? Personally, I believe that they change the time because days are shorter in the winter and longer in the summer, so they do their best to calculate that. Another thing I found interesting is what my fiancé mentioned last night, which was " maybe the people back in the day used to sleep earlier maybe 5 or 6pm because they didn't have much to do at night". Maybe they did and it had my head in thought all day

Yea sitting around and eating bonbons wasn't an option back then huh. LOL.

Yes, another thing to consider from "back then" is that they did not have electric lights in many homes. So, then it was even *more* a time of 'early rise with the sun' and 'to bed with the sun' ? well, sunset = candles (or dark and sleep?)
The weekend of Nov 4&5 this year, my F-A-V-O-R-I-T-E radio station kept playing the Daylight Saving Time reminder on how DST was Benjamin Franklin's idea and adopted by U.S. Congress -at the time.
However, we now have electric lights on like everything (Thomas Edison, incandescent light bulb!) - from lighting our roads and parking lots, to lighting the fields with *bright!!* lights on the combines, tractors, and other farming equipment or football and baseball fields, even hockey ice rinks. Well, gee even down to lights in our hands - flashlights! Cell phones?! :O
So, to officially answer the Qs:
1 - yes we have changing of time here
2 - no I do not like it at all, not one bit. Mostly because it messes with my internal clock and sleep/wake rhythm.
3 - what was Q three? oh, I think my answer is above. haha.
Ask me again at or around Thanksgiving or December and .... well, more reasons.
(sigh) For me, as one very confirmed Night Owl!, having the sun wake me up "an hour early" is very not cool. For me, I'd be certainly okay if the sun wanted to first get up at about 10:00am most days, and stay out in the evening until a good 9:45pm. Aside from the differences in temperature, I do not however think I would do very well with near 24hours of daylight at the Equator nor near 24 hours of darkness at either the North or South Pole.
Okay, this is long. The End. and Good night, friends :) <3 Platy
@cyanPlatypus6370
Night Owl, mild histtory buff here LOL
Thank you so much for responding!!
I am more of a morning person more than great a "Night Owl". But I remember being on a holiday somewhere and was with a group of friends and upon exiting the building we had been in for many hours, we had noticed that the sun was still up after midnight. was kind spooked out by it.
So I hear you
