@LavenderFlower
Hi, Flower,
1. Which fictional character do you relate to the most and why?
There was a woman on an Aussie show called House Gang. I don't remember the character's name but it was played by Ruth Cromer, an actress with downs syndrome. The character has mental problems and worked and still tried to make the best of her life, make it happy and beautiful. That describes me.
2. How are you feeling this week?
Tired of the people that play mental games at work.
@purpleTree4652 Hey there Purple! I think it’s absolutely wonderful that you try to make the most of your life despite your circumstances. It’s unfortunate that we can’t choose what happens to us, but we can make our own happiness and way regardless. Having people at your workplace playing mind games with you is absolutely draining. Is there any way you’ve come across to report them? Are you thinking of changing jobs?
@LavenderFlower, I have reported the one person and she just keeps doing it. I might have to go over the heads of the managers at the location where I work. I just don't want that battle. I have thought about switching jobs, but the big boss is very good to me where I work. This could be why...maybe she knows who I have to put up with.
I relate to a shape shifter.
Mysterious, change shapes, and always in the shadows.
@carefreeRose1118 I love that poetic description. I think being a shapeshifter in our lives is so helpful at times. We can blend in, and give ourselves a sense of normalcy as we go about our day. Staying mysterious allows us to keep our privacy and guard ourselves for only those we really trust. Staying in the shadows allows us time to relax from stress and prevents us from being overwhelmed.
@LavenderFlower
🥚Which fictional character do you relate to the most and why?
The main character from the movie Memento. Not for the driven by revenge part, but living with anterograde amnesia.
🥚How are you feeling this week?
This week's been pretty ok. Needed it too for once.
@OneErased I can only imagine how difficult that must be. I think sometimes our memories give us a sense of stability, and it must be frustrating not being able to remember details or events in their entirety. However, without that amnesia kicking it when it did, you may not have been able to cope following the trauma you went through. I’m really happy your week has been okay. It must have been quite the relief 😊
@LavenderFlower
Thanks, it does have its bad moments. I've lived with it half my life so I've learned to cope with it, so it's not as bad anymore. I wish it would have helped with the traumas, but unfortunately it keeps me more stuck with them. But life's weird like that. I wouldn't be where I am today had things not gone different, so I can't complain a lot. Taken things are looking up in a lot of ways.
yo 🤘🏼
i’d say the fictional character i relate the most to is probably Eda from the Owl House. idk, her fear of commitment and the owl beast metaphor it really hard with me.
as for how i’m feeling this week 😪 let’s just say every day we spiralin
@GhostLobster
Hey there Ghost. I think that's something a lot of people can relate to. It's scary to make commitments sometimes, especially with trauma and bad experiences to frame such feelings. And I'm not sure how you interpreted the owl beast metaphor, but I'm assuming you mean the feeling of poor mental health being like a curse. I think in a lot of instances it feels like that when you've done nothing wrong but are suffering. I'm really sorry to hear you feel like you're spiralling these days. Have you been taking care of yourself?
@LavenderFlower my week has been up and down. I joined this website a couple days ago when I was feeling sad. Yesterday was a good day. Now today I am reflecting on my moods and feeling more up to talking. Sometimes I get to feeling hopeless that I’ll ever get better. I learn a little more about myself every time I fall though.
@EmbracingChaos
Hey there Chaos. Welcome to 7 Cups and the community! Reflection is such a useful tool for evaluating our behaviours and keeping us grounded, and I'm glad you feel more up to talking. It's okay to feel hopeless sometimes, cause it totally does feel like that, but as you said, every time you fall, you learn a little more about yourself 😊
