I get nervous and sometimes anxious with any conversation bc I’m too shy and have social anxiety. But considering how kind you always are I believe you’ll be a softee with a painfully shy social anxiety person such as me.

I used to celebrate it every year as a child. But once I got old enough to understand what type of family I had, I stopped. It also stopped bc when my siblings were old enough, one moved away and created a new life and besides checking in on mainly my dad and visiting us here and there, we were separated from each other while the other two siblings for the most part spent so much time with their friends that sometimes they’d miss my bday parties or school graduations or not even come home from school bc they’d go straight to their friend’s house after school. So basically with 3 family members regularly not home and my dad coming home so late from work that I was already asleep by then and my mom being who she still is right now, my parents felt celebrating just wasn’t possible or even right anymore with all these circumstances.
But now it’s more about how I feel. If I wanna celebrate I will. If I’m not in the mood to celebrate for whatever reason then I’ll skip it that year.
How do you plan to spend the holidays??
By treating myself the way I should be treated by others but am unfairly not by most. As far as Christmas goes, that includes but isn’t limited to listening to music (not just Christmas music either), watching Christmas and non Christmas movies/shows.
As long as I’m enjoying and happy it doesn’t matter how I celebrate.

That’s true I agree. I mentioned in person bc I’ve never had any in person experiences of any celebration with friends. It’d be nice to have an in person experience of that. I’d want you included bc how well we get along. But I understand if that can’t happen so yeah virtually works too.

Omg despite how ice freezing cold it was I used to love playing in the snow as a child the way children regularly play in the snow.
It’s night time now here. Bc of the season it gets dark much earlier while during Spring and Summer when DST is active it gets dark much more later. But it doesn’t really matter that much to me when it’s dark. I just adjust to it and then I’m fine, no problem.
@akunknown I like all the seasons😁 there's always something to look forward to ❤ it generally snows once a year here in the UK, but generally around February😁 I've just never been well enough to see it or play in it myself, except once😁😁😁 I loved it, I was only allowed out for like 10 minutes but it was amazing

True there’s always something to look forward to in every season but Spring is my favorite if I had to pick one: not too hot, not cold, just warm enough with a nice cool breeze, raining sometimes, that season has more than one thing to look forward to and I love all those things including rain long as it’s not raining hard or every day or any storms.

Is my family nice?? Depends on the specific member. My grandmother who peacefully passed away was always nice and caring.
My dad who passed away too was happiest while we were children but seemed less happy and more stressed out as we got older.
My stepdad was happier when I was younger but now he’s 24/7 negative about everything making it difficult for me to be around him.
My mom is the root cause of immediate family problems whether that be difficulties, complications, communication, mismanagement, unfairness, uncaring, inequality, and literally any other type of problem that exists.
Regarding my siblings:
My first oldest sister who moved away isn’t someone I feel close to bc she moved while I was a child. And for someone who had no friends, her missing all my school graduations and many bdays hurt me growing up. But now it doesn’t.
My second older sister and I get along but we’ve definitely had our problems with each other. Sometimes it’s not easy with her around but an example of that is bc she wants to be so comfortable she has to have beds switched between rooms instead of just staying in the bedroom that has the bed she wants bc the bedroom she picked has two windows instead of one. Yet there’s no consideration for if anyone lives in the place upstairs above her should she make any noise, would it disturb them??? And she doesn’t settle anywhere. Every few months or 1-2 years she has to move somewhere else and then hype everyone up about how great it is and we should come see it and all that. It’s getting a bit annoying and stressful to deal with this as often as it happens.
My older brother and I get along. But I don’t like how he defends my mom and stepdad or at least it sounds like he is. But if I tell him that he says he’s not. But then says “it’s their house they can do whatever they want” Does that mean mismanaging their own house??? Does that mean they can be so difficult and disrespectful that they’re negatively affecting people who don’t deserve that but are being impacted just bc they’re living with them which wasn’t their choice to??? No absolutely not. And I never once heard him saying that statement when he was living with them which was his own choice to. So when he’s living with them or is being affected by them he won’t say any statements like that but when he’s not being affected by them or isn’t living with them then he’ll have no problem saying it bc since he’s not living/being affected by them he may feel like he has no reason to care which might be motivating him to be like this. However we still get along.
But it’s not always like that. Considering everything my siblings and my stepdad and I have been through mainly bc of my mom, it can easily change anytime to me not getting along with someone else or more than one person or everyone. One thing that doesn’t change is my mom and I not getting along. That gets worse as time goes on just bc of who she is.

May I ask why you feel you never had a family?? Maybe you never lived with them. Idk how long you’ve been living in the hospital.
But since you were born you must’ve had a mom and dad of your own meaning you must’ve had a family of your own at some point whether it was short term or not.
Thinking of all of us here at 7Cups as your family is understandable and very kind of you, I feel that way too bc I think everyone here treats me better than some if not all of my actual so called “family” does.

I know some of it. But not everything you already shared on here. As far as scaring me, don’t worry about that bc idk if you will or not but I’ve never been scared away by anyone before. That includes mean people which you’re not.
@akunknown ok so um. I was born into a Christian cult, they were definitely not christians🙁 children born into the cult were either sold or kept as slaves. I was a slave. Rescued at 18 years old. I don't live in a hospital, it's actually a old folks nursing home. All the slaves that were rescued when well enough where split up into different secret locations, were we could be under government protection. I ended up here cause I need 24 hour care, cause I'm disabled now. And it's a mansion with huge enclosed grounds, but only 12 residents at a time. They could easily put security up here, so here's where I ended up😁 I generally say Carnegie in other posts because saying old folks nursing home always leads to questions ❤

Wow. I’m so sorry you went through all that you went through. You suffered so much I feel so bad for you and I’m crying over it 😤 I wish I was there I would have saved you earlier than 18 and brought you to live w/me so you’d be rescued but also have a normal life where you can go out whenever and everything else.
As for being……I purposely left that last word out bc I’m not a fan of that term. I find it offensive. You may not be offended by it idk and if you’re not that’s ok but some people are. There’s enough people I believe who find terminology like that offensive to the point where for me to find it offensive so I don’t use it

Honestly I don’t believe you are. I don’t believe anyone truly is. To me words like that are just offensive terminology or language or labels created humans to use for other humans to easily describe or define certain conditions.
Truthfully I just believe you have a setback or a condition. Maybe permanent. Maybe temporary. But a setback or condition nevertheless.

As for making me cry, I’m emotional and even cry when I see certain scenes in movies/shows despite knowing it’s just an act and pre planned. So I cry a lot. No apologies needed for this. It’s normal for me.

My username is just I’m so unknown I’m a mystery or mysterious to many people. Not bc I wanna be but bc I wasn’t accepted by anyone growing up so I was forced into social isolation therefore no one ever gave themselves the chance to meet and know and become friends with me and at the same time they took those opportunities away from me. It felt like they robbed themselves and me of the same opportunities. That covers the unknown part. Ak, no idea what that means so that just gives more purpose or whatever to the unknown part of it despite probably not needing anymore.
Also my super love and ultimate fandom for characters like Batman, The Undertaker, etc most especially when I was a kid.

since I got out of hospital (which I think was last monday🤔🤔) they've added extra exercises to my gentle exercise routine. And it seems to be healing , I have the feeling back in my left upper body, and I can move my hand, and my arm a little bit. There's a lot of tingling but that's good I'll get my left side back soon😁😁 so everything seems to be go right finally😁😁

Coffee’s not necessarily unhealthy. I mean I don’t think it is but I believe it does have caffeine in it. So people overuse it to stay awake or any other reason which then becomes unhealthy. Or they get addicted to it or to things like drugs, smoking, alcohol, which is also not good.
@akunknown good for you ❤ I don't drink or smoke🙂 I am addicted to coffee, kinda got addicted to it when I was in hospital first. But they limit my coffee to only morning time 😁 drugs not anymore and never by choice. Except prescribed meds ❤

The addiction is understandable. I believe everyone’s addicted or obsessed with something whether good or bad so I think of addiction as a normal part of life even if it’s not good bc there’s lots of bad things that are normal in life. Drugs, smoking, alcohol, violence, etc being some examples.
As far as I’m aware of, I’ve not yet been diagnosed with any physical or mental health problems. My doctor keeps telling me I’m healthy enough and have no problems to worry about.

But all things considered I’m not sure if he’s completely right about all that tbh. However I also don’t think it’s safe to assume anything on your own and think you have this problem or that problem and fix it yourself by taking unprescribed meds or going for therapy without an actual diagnosis by a medical professional either.

@Tinywhisper11 the UK is separated into 4 smaller countries, so we got England, wales, Scotland and ireland. This weekend just in Wales but covering the whole of Wales is a red alert storm🙁 I hope everyone will be ok. I don't mind storms, cause we never really get them bad. Except thunder and lightening, that really scared me. So hopefully it's just rain and wind, the winds already started I can hear it howling

Yeah I don’t like howling or too strong winds. They make winter colder than it already is and sometimes winds are strong enough to open doors that are closed!!!
