Perhaps PenPal Idea is dead.
22 years ago, when I started using the internet, I thought maybe I would get a girlfriend this way. 22 years later it never happened. I thought might meet her on a dating site, forum, social networking, or Chatrooms. I thought we would first become a penpal in email. After that start talking on the phone, and then maybe meet in person. In my early days, I could meet women in chatrooms, social networking, and dating sites. But nothing lasted for long enough to do what I thought. And also the people I met was always lived too far away. Eventually I started talking to other guys. Not for dating of course, but because I was so lonely that I needed someone to just talk too. Now days things have gotten worse. In my current experience people no longer email. Most people don't really write anything deep. They just do little here and there. Makes me wonder if maybe this penpal idea might be dead.

@tryingtosurvive2024 i've had and know people that have also had good luck on reddit, they have a lot of subreddits like r/makenewfriendshere and things like that. i found my best friend on that and a bunch of other more casual friends. and a good friend of mine found his fiance by posting on reddit forums looking for a special someone. i wish you good luck, and big hugs
@SummerOfCA Does reddit have a place for losers like me? I mean I don't got anything going for me. Not the kind of things most people would want.
@tryingtosurvive2024 i haven't left my house in 3 years except for medical reasons or to visit family, i can't work, i can barely walk, i can't stand for more than 30 seconds, i spend my days playing video games to distract from negative thoughts, and i go weeks without talking to people outside. i think i'm pretty low on the totem of having things people would want, yet i still found awesome people, and yes they are home bodies on disability like me and we get along really well. There's all sorts of people there though for all sorts of reasons
@SummerOfCA Alright, I am sorry that you have those issues. :( I don't like reddit because of the temptation for looking at porn that is there. Cause I know it is there. sigh.
@tryingtosurvive2024 oh huh, i never saw porn on reddit, i had no idea. i've since been informed by my friend that i had a very diff experience on reddit than they did haha, oof. but there is porn kinda all over the internet, just don't go to the porn subreddits? if you go in specifically looking at the "finding someone" communities, and stay away from the adults only ones, you probably won't see any porn at all, like me 😊
