Second Pregnancy

azurePineapple3040 September 20th

Hai, I'm new here and I've never done this before so I hope I do it right.

I'm a young mother to a beautiful daughter and expecting a second baby (2nd trimester) and lately I've been struggling with sadness. I feel this deep sadness and dread that I don't know the origin of, I chuck it off to hormones but sometimes it gets too overwhelming that I idealise about having a miscarriage. I hate that I'm pregnant, I'm guilty about not being excited about this second child because it never asked to be brought into this world (that was a decision me and my partner made actively).

My marriage is suffering because of it, I'm angry and sad which makes being a good mother to my daughter very difficult because I lash out at her sometimes and I know she doesn't deserve any of that. It leaves me more guilty and sad than I initially was.

I'm scared that I might get postpartum depression and hate my baby when it eventually comes.

Hi there Azure, Welcome to 7 Cups!  Here is a link to the new Member Pack in case you don't have it https://docs.google.com/document/d/1M53Nm5-pbtxx2_jKfXYgYzo3NgXxjNfMwfzVSRC1rZg/edit?usp=sharing

Congratulations on your beautiful daughter too!

I think your feelings are all valid, everyone is different and we all go through mood changes and difficult thoughts. Have you spoken to your midwife about how you are feeling? Perhaps talking to them will help a little?

Or try chatting with a listener that may help too. If you would like you can message me, just click on my blue butterfly and it will take you to my profile.

Hello and congratulations on your pregnancy. Im also on my 2nd pregnancy and due in 2 months. I understand how you feel and what you're going through. Just know that you're not alone. It's ok to feel that way and it's mostly a result of hormones.

Hi @mistymagic I'm feeling alright I guess. I get backpains and neckpain sometimes. And it's starting get really cold nowadays too where I live so it's no that fun and kinda depressive. But I got my 6 year old daughter here and she is like my best friend. But there is only so much you can expect from a 6 year old, as she doesn't fully understand what mommy has to go through and on top of that she still need a lot of help.

@Annabelle0505 your daughter sounds wonderful. It's amazing how adult they can be isn't it? They understand so much and pick up so much too. Such a great age to be!
