hi.

so i have no idea if anyone will be able to help me with this but i don’t know what else to do. i want to know if i have OCD, i’ve spent a lot of time on different websites reading about it and it really sounds like me but the fact that there’s so many types makes it hard for me. anyway, i don’t know what to do with my suspensions, i’ve told my parents before but they didn’t really do anything. i’ve tried to find books on it but i don’t know how to get them without friends or family noticing. if anyone has any suggestions on what to do i would appreciate it so much.

It's understandable to feel unsure and overwhelmed when trying to understand your own experiences. If you suspect you may have OCD, it's a good idea to seek professional help when you are able to. In the mean time, there are online resources and hotlines available where you can learn more about OCD and find support. It requires you reading a lot of articles and trying to narrow it done to what your OCD type might be. Additionally, libraries often have books on mental health topics that you can borrow without drawing attention.

hey hello, i have been struggling with the same thing, if you think you might have ocd, maybe you could search for professional help online, if you dont want to tell ur parents or friends, and dont have any money to pay sessions, maybe you could find websites that have like "first session is free" or "free trial for 1 week" type of things. i am currently trying to do this and i just installed the 7 cups app

I didn't know I had OCD until I learned there are many kinds of compulsions- I though contamination fears related to germs and disease was the only kind. You've mentioned you're already pretty sure, I would research the types of OCD there are and compare further with that! Some include sexually intrusive thoughts, relationships, perfection seeking, fear of harming self and others, etc.
I follow this OCD specialist/therapist who dies a good job of listing out possible types of OCD, you could look through her page! https://www.***.com/alegrakastens/?hl=en

But most important is seeking the help of a therapist, because treatment plans are so important. And if you are interested in pursuing therapy to help with your OCD, some are far more helpful than others. I hope you're able to find some answers! I remember being so relieved when I got diagnosed, it felt like the thoughts in my head could finally be managed instead of feeling like thats just going to be part of who I am forever.
